BRENTWOOD, N.H. -

A Massachusetts man was arrested Monday and accused of possessing $35,000 worth of illegal steroids, police say.



8,000 steroids in pill form and over 1,090 milliliters of liquid steroids were seized from Ferrara's person and home, police say.

The arrest is the result of a three-month investigation by the Rockingham County Sheriff's Office Drug Task Force, the Drug Enforcement Agency, as well as police departments from Wilmington, Mass., Kingston, Plaistow and Somersworth.

According to police, Mark C. Ferrara, 24, was carrying 8,000 steroids in pill form and roughly 1,090 milliliters of liquid steroids in his vehicle when he was stopped in Brentwood on Monday.

Police say that when they searched Ferrara’s house in Wilmington, Mass., they found an additional 360 milliliters of anabolic steroids and about 200 hypodermic needles.

The street value of the steroids is estimated to be $35,000, police said.

Ferrara was charged with possession of controlled narcotic drugs with intent to distribute. His bail is set at $50,000.
