I am on a test, eq cycle now and am using finasteride along with Regrowth shampoo. Now here is the question...what benifits do these two have over using SPIRONOLACTONE alone? The only reason I am not using SPIRONOLACTONE now is because I don't want to shave my head to apply it.

Will the combo I am using prevent hair loss as well as SPIRONOLACTONE alone?

finasteride blocks the conversion of test to DHT, so you have less DHT floating around to attack your hair or prostate. spiro is a topical anti-andrognen that attacks the DHT at the scalp, which is a more feasible choice of the two. but both are best used together. less DHT converted with finasteride, and no DHT allowed to attach to your scalp with spiro. nizoral is just all around good stuff for your scalp and hair as well as acne.

also i have a full head of hair (and longer than shoulder length) and i apply spiro. just drop it along the hairline, and in your part, and in your "bald spot" area....then rub it under your hair and onto your scalp. it works that way. just make sure to get up under your hair, or if your hair is very short its easy to access your scalp for application. my hair is a ***** to apply it with.

i'm a maniac drug freak...i use spiro, minoxidil/azeliac acid, nizoral, proscar, SP extract. my hair is staying put. its 90% here still at 31, and ain't going nowhere. but from real world experience...i lose LESS hair on gear than when i was natural, using these items w/ the gear. i lose almost nothing now, whereas before i used to drop some decent hair in the shower and brush.

yes xandrox (minox/azeliac acid) and spiro 5% can be obtained at minoxidil.com with a script. nizoral and minox/azelaic generic can be obtained w/o script by nizoralman domestically, as well he has proscar (finasteride) too. nizoralman has 2% spiro w/o script also. so basically you can get it all with or w/o a script. the spiro 5% you need a script, or order overseas from generics@ziplip.com

i think it has to do with me being paranoid and using so much hair treatments while "on". but maybe i am wrong.

If you had to choose one over the other, topical spironolactone would be the best choice hands down. As for proscar, you can use it or you can use topical azelaic acid. Topical azelaic acid is every bit as good as finasteride/proscar IMO.

How does one apply it to their head?? If it only comes in a 2oz container it will last a week! Unless you shave your head, no?

      Default 2 oz container

C187543, yes - the azelaic acid + minoxidil and spironolactone both come in a 2oz. container, however the effective amount is small. One only needs to apply 1ml, twice a day. Using this regimen, each bottle should last approx 1 month.
