Tweet10 Years, which is unusual for them. They are subject to either heart failure or hip disease (because they're so big) which cripples them. He actually died of stomach cancer, just kinda wasted away until I put him to sleep.

TweetMy weimaraner has a sever skin infection, she was at the vet for 6 days. I just got her back yesterday. It cost $493 for the treatment. I also have to spray stuff on her skin twice and day and give her medicine twice a day. Its a pain and is expensive, but I have to do it, can't let her suffer.

TweetI used to have to do that for the malamute. Plus a coal tar shampoo - nasty. A lot of that has to do with the oil glands along the dogs back. Causes a lot of problems sometimes. Costs more to go to the vet than it does your own doctor sometimes.
