Happy hour in New York City could end if Department of Health policy party-poopers go ahead with a proposal to outlaw beer and booze specials at bars and restaurants, sources told The Post.

I have mixed feelings about this. I do hate the government telling us what we can or cant do. I agree with waterboy 100% about that.
But what makes me think maybe happy hours should be banned is that they encourage drunkeness and right now, this entire state is going through a horrible state of mourning over a fatal car wreck that happened 2 nights ago, saturday, a drunk 36 year old in a full size dodge ram truck was going 100 mph and ran a red light and killed 3 high school girls instantly. They were in a chevy cobalt. The girls were ages 13, 15 and 18 and they were leaving a church event on saturday night. One of the girls father was in th e car in front and they were following him home. Its one of the worst things ever. Everyone around here is talking about it.
In my bar days, I saw way too many guys leave happy hour drunk and staggering, then jumping into their trucks and burning rubber out of the parking lot.
I say down with government control, but anything that will cut down on drunk driving is a good thing. This worthless piece of shit who killed those girls should never see the light of day again. Devastating. Our culture needs to stop glorifying liquor.
