TweetGood for them, they are right. This is the worst infringement on our freedom in our lifetimes. The bill, which the President said he would veto (lie), permits the military to detain U.S. citizens on U.S. soil and hold them indefinitely, interrogate (torture), and even kill them if the order is given (which was actually done recently shortly after passing the law that allows the president to order assassinations of U.S. citizens), all without any charges and no due process. This is against the 5th Amendment of the Constitution, and is no different than what the Soviets and Germans did under Communism and National Socialism. Judge Napolitano just had a show about it today and had a retired Colonel who is now a philosopher and historian on to talk about it. He said this is indeed as bad as it sounds and that even though the military is uncomfortable invading our rights, they will ultimately follow their orders. The really bad part of this is the fact that the President and military get to decide who is a threat. The way the judge explained it, the President could literally say Romney is a threat and send him to Guantanamo Bay (not that it's likely). The Colonel said he believes we are being trained to accept the loss of our Constitutional rights and liberties, and to accept a more totalitarian rule. He used the TSA and Patriot Act as examples. This is the stuff that people will remain asleep like sheep on. I have been worried about the direction our country has been headed for quite some time, and it is one more reason I have found that Ron Paul is the only candidate worthy of support. Look at who voted for this bill and you will find that just about every Republican senator short of Rand Paul and Jim Demint voted for it. Even the socialist Bernie Sanders voted against it. Thus, John McCain and Lyndsey Graham, two of the lamest excuses for Republicans voted for it. People need to ask themselves if they are for the Constitution or against it, and if they are for it they need to be 100% for it. There is no in-between, you don't support it in some cases and not in others, else you are no different than those who seek to take away our constitutional rights. It would also be good if people would stop supporting politicians that the mainstream media tells them to, and start researching for themselves who best represents their views. The list will be very short in that case. So instead of supporting someone based off of their rhetoric, why not look at all of their voting records and then determine how well they match up to your principles and views. For those who claim to support the Constitution there is only one man running who supports it.

A while back I read an excerpt from an author's book who had witnessed the transition to national socialism in Germany under the man whose name we can't write on here. He said that the majority of people never believed anything bad was going to happen, and that all of the laws were legally being implemented and in such a smooth and incremental pace that you hardly noticed. He said there were some people who kept warning of what was going to happen but most people considered them to be overreacting or radicals. Of course we know who was right in the end. Now here we are in our country watching slowly as all of these bills continue to get signed into law that are unconstitutional and yet hardly a word from anyone, especially the mainstream media which seems to support it.

How many people are even aware that after the attack on Pearl Harbor, President FDR used and executive order to detain more than 110,000 Japanese and Japanese Americans in the U.S. during the war. They were all placed in internment camps. Thus, this sort of thing has happened before.

Hopefully some of these things will be repealed but it's not likely. Also, the mainstream Republican candidates running would have probably supported this bill so I don't look for them to repeal it if elected.
