TweetThe entire health care plan is going to be a disaster. This fee is absurd. The reason drugs cost as much as they do is to cover the R&D spent by pharm companies, which is how it should be. The fact that the government has created another agency to steal money from the taxpayers is outrageous.
Sadly I believe this law will remain on the books regardless of who is in office. But I don't really believe that the Republicans care anyway. Heck, Romney and Newt have both proven they are for government run healthcare. They are all crooks.
Our country has moved toward corporatism over the past 11 years or more and especially the last 3. It is also becoming a police state but people are too naive to realize it. I don't see anyway to reverse this trend either, nor do I think it can happen. We are at a point now in which total government control over our lives is inevitable. The only thing that will stop the momentum is the end of the dollar or a world war in which the dollar is also brought to an end. Ridiculous laws like the health care bill which has a board of bureaucrats making medical decisions eventually, or the recent National Defense Authorization Act which allows the military to detain U.S. citizens on U.S. soil indefinitely, and of course the Patriot Act which is a direct violation of the fourth amendment, and the Dept of Homeland Security which also violates the 4th amendment, as well as the 1st amendment, are all obvious indicators that our liberties are being eroded. This has gone on under both Democrat and Republican administrations but the people are asleep. Politics has become like a sport in which the fans of each team never call their own team out for cheating. If someone is a Steelers fan and the ref makes a call against the Steelers the fan is probably not going to say good call ref. Furthermore, if the Steelers are constantly breaking the rules every game intentionally, the fans are not likely to find another team to root for. It is the same thing with Republicans and Democrats. People just listen to the worthless propaganda on the news and in the newspapers, or the talking heads on the political shows, and believe every word of it as long as it is in favor of the party they like. Most people don't want to take the time to do their own research and call out either party when they do wrong. People have become immune to the wrongdoing, lying, and propaganda, that comes from politicians. It is as if people don't have any principles. But so long as this is the case we have no chance of restoring our liberties and getting the government off of our backs. And after hearing all of the attacks Ron Paul receives from so called limited government Republicans, I don't have any hope. The only man in office who follows the Constitution to a tee and he is criticized for doing so. Republicans and Democrats disregard the Constitution equally. Both parties only acknowledge it when it's convenient. And sadly, most citizens have fallen for it and support them fully. Thus why waste our energies worrying about the new healthcare law when in reality even if a Republican wins the election he will bring about bigger government, increase the police state, invade more countries, spend more money, and continue to devalue the dollar. And I also wouldn't be surprised if the healthcare bill was changed to represent some ideas of the Republicans and renamed. I have to believe the whoever is in power will want to keep the bill because I don't believe it has as much to do about medical benefits as it does growing the government and giving it control over our privacy.
This is my 2 cents that hardly anyone will agree with nor will it change anyone's mind on how they perceive the world of politics. I am a true supporter of limited government as the Republican Party claims to be. It sure would be nice if the rest of the Republicans could start supporting the same.
Government is not reason; it is not eloquent; it is force. Like fire, it is a dangerous servant and a fearful master. George Washington
