Well as usual, training on a great tear and a stupid frigging injury pops up. not really sure where to point to actual injuy cause. Was grappling at dojo and got caught in a kimura but being too proud/stupid to ever tap, stayed in it longer than needed til opponent got tired and got out of it and next day a little sore but seemed to be fine. only other thing i am wondering is my doctor when rehabbing my partial hamstring tear back in september made it a crusade about my bp being a bit high and out me on lisinopril and one of the side effect was possible muscle weakness. i noticed my incline hammer press was going from 10 reps with 340 down to 8 then 5 and worse my shoulder press on the hammer strength device was dropping from 10-12 reps with 230 down to 6-8 and right delt especially was screaming trying to get the weight up into start position. several days after shoulder was still achy and sore so finally got her to send me to ortho surgeon who was very cute and tested strength and range of motion and had me place my bent arm by waist and placed her weight on it and had me raise arm outward and i was seriously in pain. said are you gonna let a wussy girl like me keep you from raising your arm lol. she then asked you seem like you've been lifting for ages? i said yes. she said ok i am mot passing any judgement or anything but since you are strong and muscular i have to ask and i said yes, she said oh ok and when and i interrupted and said currently taking them now. she said no problem, no judging, just helps me diagnose. people with strong muscles have muscles that will try to hide and compensate for an injured tendon or muscle to keep training so i want to get an mri to rule out a torn rotator cuff. i'm hoping i'm wrong. i said yeah me too. did some online research and thinking strain more than tear per the symptoms and i do have a small bone spur that showed up on the xray that may be irritating the tendon. i'll keep you posted. at least it'll be over before turkey day dinner =)

Good luck bro. Hope the MRI turns out good for you.
A few years back tore my supraspinatus tendon, which is part of the rotator cuff. The range of motion in my shoulder was almost zero. I will never forget sitting in the surgeons office when he looked at my MRI films and said "Oh man, this is really bad. We need to schedule surgery asap." I walked out so depressed.
Long story short, I DID NOT have the surgery and I am now about 98% healed from the injury. There was enough of the tendon left intact that I was able to get it to heal. It was a combination of avoiding ALL exercises that hurt and taking massive quantities of supplements/antioxidants. I was back to full strength in about 6 months. I know that if I had continued to do exercises that hurt like hell, my shoulder would have never healed. The pain I had was excruciating, but I now have absolutely no pain in my shoulder whatsoever. I can actually do full range dips nowand the surgeon told me I would never be able to do dips ever again.
      Good luck BD!

thanks bro. mri went smooth enough. bit tight in that tube but all good. will know what the films say next friday. as stupid and vain as it sounds, the thing that really puts me off about surgery is the fact that it would phuq up my sleeve where it goes up around the shoulder. today after two days of no upper body work, range of motion not as painful and feeling better. hoping for good news next friday.
