Any of you folks ride either a mountain bike, street racer or hybrid?

I ride with the kids pretty frequently and we usually spend alot of time on them at the shore. Was looking to trade in my Diamondback Mountain bike for a hybrid. Reason being is I never really ride off-road so whats the sence of riding a big tired, bulky mountain bike on the street. The hybrids are nice in that they are lighter and cruise better on the roads.

Was looking at a Trek over the weekend. Nice bike but $1k. Could not beleive there are bikes out there for $11k....

      Any word on Trek?
