partially torn hamstring due to mistep in sparring monday night. went to ER tues and got diagnosed with the tear. headed to orthopedist tuesday. today leg blew up twice the size of the right one. internal bleeding in ham/calf area similar to when i tore the calf back in 2009. ugh, was on a tear too training. hopefully i can keep the upper body training going while waiting to start training lower body again. **** **** **** !!!

Hey BD, Im curious how it happened. You said it was a misstep. Were you kicking, throwing a punch, or moving when you misstep? What kind of floor was it? Was it a mat? Thanks. That injury sucks. I tore my right one throwing a flying front snap kcik with no warm up and it went SNAP...I I went down bam, I was crawling on my hands and knees...purple and black for a long time..housebound for days on percocet...it healed.
The good news for you is that it is a partial tear , which means it can all grow back together. With the right nutrition etc, You could end up being back sooner rather than later. Hopefully. best of luck

damn that sucks. what "move" were you doing when you tore it? i have seen a guy injure a hammy when his opponent caught a round house kick and he tried to pull it back but tear it? damn you must have some explosive power!

i hope you get better soon. arnica montana is something my Khru suggests to help speed injury recovery. i think it works. its cheap and dammit even if it only helps 10% thats better than nothing

Damn Dawg that sucks bigtime ! thats the thing thats been worring me is sparring, with a belt test and finally a summer job comming, im afraid of blowing out another knee again. I know it just comes with the territory and I accept that but, when I was a kid I healed really quick from it, a few years ago when I did it again it took months to recover from that. Just do everything you can to get it better, and I'd try like Jipped suggested try some Jow on it, I make myown and it works killer. Best of luck to ya bro !
