In an announcement made today by UFC president Dana White “The Phenom” will step opposite Japanese superstar Yoshihiro Akiyama at UFC 133 on August 6.

UFC 133 will take place at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on Aug 6 and is expected to be a pay-per-view event.

"Verbal agreements are in for a battle between two of the most exciting fighters in the middleweight division," White told ESPN. "Coming off three straight 'Fight of the Night' performances, Yoshihiro Akiyama will take on former UFC light-heavyweight champion Vitor Belfort in Philadelphia."

While never in a dull fight, Akiyama has dropped his last two fights when put against Michael Bisping and Chris Leben. His lone Octagon victory comes way of controversial split decision to Alan Belcher at the historic UFC 100 event. Prior to his UFC career the Japanese stand out had only lost one professional contest back in 2005. It was his bout with Chris Leben that shelled out his first loss in 16 fights.

Vitor Belfort reemerged as a force to be reckoned with after he returned to the UFC and quickly took out Rich Franklin. After the victory he took on the challenge to face Anderson Silva at UFC 126 earlier this year. Silva was able to knockout his fellow Brazilian in the first frame of action and end, at least for the moment, the return of the Belfort reign to the UFC.
