TweetFor Carolina? I think they will be pressured into taking a QB...although the smarter pick would be to pick one of the amazing Def lineman. Carolina is a struggling franchise so I think they need a big name, flashy guy. My pick is they go with Cam Newton.
thoughts?
TweetOk, so if Carolina takes Newton, who would you take with the second pick? Derius, Peterson, Von Miller, Nick fairley? It has to be the best defensive player in the draft, whoever that is.
McShay projects Dareus to Denver
By Bill Williamson
ESPN draft analyst Todd McShay will unveil his latest three-round mock draft Wednesday on ESPN.com.
Tuesday, on “SportsCenter,” McShay gave a sneak peak with his top five picks.
McShay called the Denver Broncos the “real winners” because he has the Carolina Panthers taking Auburn quarterback Cam Newton with the No. 1 pick. That would leave the entire defensive draft board to Denver at No. 2.
McShay has Denver, which has massive needs on defense, jumping on Alabama defensive tackle Marcell Dareus. McShay indicated he thinks Dareus may be the best player in the draft and he thinks the Panthers should take him. McShay thinks this would be a major coup for Denver.
I agree. Dareus was my selection for Denver in my previous mock draft and I don’t see myself going off the pick in the 23 days between now the drafts unless there is a major development. Dareus is a dominant player and he’d be a strong building block for Denver as it begins the reconstruction of its defense.
I’ll have further reaction to McShay’s new mock draft Wednesday.
TweetIm just wondering what my pats areplanning- they need defensive lineman and offensive line too- but of course probably NO
TweetI would be shocked if they didn't take Derius...I could see Von Miller but hard to think they'd have two bad ass OLB and a weak line. I think Denver is a wildcard here though because their pick could really affect the rest of the top ten if they don't take the safe pick in Derius or Nick Fairley.
TweetCam Newton is a big risk imo. I will be surprised if he goes #1. You never know.
TweetI think they take him, that franchise needs some flash badly! There about as exciting to watch as a cardboard box...Really ashame because they have some good players but I think they were coached into the ground...
TweetChicago needs some o-line help to protect Cutlker

TweetThere are a ton of teams that need O line help but it is a fairly thin O line draft talent wise. A lot of projects for sure.
