Diet, nutrition, supplements. How important is it for all around mental and physical health? For anti aging? Moods? For recovering? How important is it in pain and inflammation? 50%, 80%, 100%?

I'd say close to 100. I can definitely tell a difference in the way I feel if I eat some fast food junk.

your body works in best harmony by incorporating all the above including, diet, nutrition, excersize, and rest. One of these alone is good, but in combination is better. There are signs my body gives me when not in harmony.

I wonder how much the typical American diet, with all the sugar, processed foods and CHEMICALS effects the way people feel. So many people are on anti-depressant medication. Wonder how much is diet related. Look at how much sugar is consumed every day.
Not only do we have to eat the right stuff, it is equally important to avoid the junk. It is hard to avoid junk sometimes.

Thats very interesting point of view, never thought of it like that. The poor diets prob do contribute to it. Would love to see a study on that, as I'm sure there is one.

On my current plan, I eat clean all week and then have a HUGE cheat day on Saturday. At the end of the day Saturday and Sunday morning I feel like crap because I eat so much junk food on Saturday. I can't wait to start eating clean again!! I could only imagine how I would feel if I ate like that every day and many people do!! I agree that diet plays a very important part in how people feel physically, mentally, etc!!

You all make a good point what you put in your body can either make or break ya. my younger brother died from type 2 a few years ago, when he was in the hospital my mother and I where packing his stuff and checking him out of college, all he had for food was in cans,..ravioli etc, bottles of diet cola, chips, cookies, just s#it food ! not one piece of fruit or vegetable I was f'ing shocked !! so this is why he wanted to commit suicide, this is why he was overweight and stressed out all the time and with school. I heard he was in traffic waiting for constuction when traffic started to move he was the only car not going, luckly a trooper was in line and walked up to his car to see whats the matter and here he is passed out behind the wheel in a coma. when I visited him in the hospital I promised him I would bring him home and take care of him,..he died two days later from pancreatitus. I went to go shopping with my girlfriend yesterday and I was blown away (well not much compared to any other time) at how f'ing fat and ugly everone was !!! I mean like not "not give a s#it about myself really" fat and ugly. everyone just looked really awfull !! slumped over their shopping carts full of frozen pizzas, french fries, cola, cookies, chips and canned cheap s#it of whatever looking like the're just hating life. faces of dark circles, bloched skin, limping around, or dragging their feet and short tempered with their children. I couldn't get out of that store and in my truck down the road fast enough,..it made me feel bad for all of them..really bad. like I could see the fate of all these poor people. im sure the're not all bad, I know myself with the way money is so damn tight I can walk outta the store with way more junk food and maby a bag or two of healthy food. with my old sick ass on the eliptical im watching the kids getting out for lunch walking by smoking cigarettes and pounding a pint of "Monster" on the way to the deli to pick up their lunch of chicken strips and jo jo's, or maby just another energy drink and a burrito from the gas station. it just blows me away, I mean im not on some diet I eat what I want and sometimes I'll make nachos or a pizza but I eat fresh food 90% of the time and allways have..I was never allowed to eat like that thanks to my dad. if I didn't finish what was on my plate it would be there for me the next day to eat..sorry folks for just going on but I really do understand all this it does make a difference what you do with yourself, we're not getting any younger and no matter what happened in the past we're allyways going to do better if we just say f#ck it and start doing something beneficial for ourselves now while we can.
