TweetSo i went for my follow up visit with the cardiologist yesterday regarding the procedure I had done a few weeks back. Fortunately all is now OK and it was a relief.
However, he told me something i did not know and wanted to see if any of you had heard the same.
He said studies have shown that consistent training with heavy weights as you get older can make your heart more dense thereby restricting / constricting the "pumping" action of the heart. Meaning the heart loses it's ability to fully expand and contract. Over time this can lead to heart problems. He sadi your better off by doing less weight and more reps
Ever hear of this?
TweetI don 't know if this is what he means but my father told me he worked with a man who used to be big and muscular, and he had to stop it because of the strain on his heart.
He was told that he had very muscular chest and it was restricting, and crowding the normal function of his heart.
