TweetDid you guys know that sylvester Stallone personaly called Van Damme to work with him and be in the movie the Expendables and Van Damme declined the offer and said Van Damme turned it down, citing that he "doesn't want his career going down that route BUT he might do the sequel to the Expendables which there is going to be another movie. Also in 2011-12 there will be another universal soldier. No one really knows this but all those movies Van Damme did actualy did very well in the usa but did amazing over seas. There were a couple flops but I'm amazed he turned down sly's movie. It could of jump started his career . Who knew dulph lungren would of been in it. I guess these actors either have enough money to say no or there idiots. Also Van Damme karate record was 20-2 with 20 ko's and 2 decisions and he is training again to fight one more time and this is real.

TweetFrom what I remember, Stallone wanted all of the "heros" of the 90's to be in the movie. Although I liked Van Damme movies, I'm not too crazy of him since he used to often beat his wife, Gladys Portugese(?), former female bodybuilder. Stallone did better with Jet Li and Josh S., my 2 faves martial artists.

Funny Story, About 4 years ago a buddy and mine were just talking about stupid stuff at a friends Batchlor party and we literally came up with the idea for the Expendables movie. We had all of the characters layed out (including Chuck of course) and we were tossing around plot ideas. Anyway, we thought a movie with all of the old action heros spouting off a ton of cheesy one liners and a ton of explosions would be awesome. Then one day I came across the trailer for the Expendables and I almost started chocking I was laughing so hard and had to call my buddy. I was robbed!!!

Maybe got a better deal as a fake Jefferson Parish Deputy Sheriff in Metairie, Louisiana. He don't fit in as a "good ole boy" in JP, from what I see. He don't even hold his gun like a real cop does. If he was in a shoot out, he'd be dead in a second.

Tweeti read in an interview that he was never a fan of stalones and when he asked about the plot, stallone responded wiht "whats it matter, we're all gonna make a ton of money"...well he dont do movies just for the money (obviously). that was the jist...ans segal was under contract for his tv show and couldnt get away or would have loved to be in it....vandam would concider a sequel (which is being made) segal wants to be in the next one....
i liked the flick. i liked vandam in universal soldier 1, but havnt liked anytign after really...i'm not a big fan. the movie did great without him....
on another note....anyone here know how smart dulf lundgard (whatever) actually is?? 7 languages, and a boat load of cetrificates and degrees....i never realized how smart he actually was
