TweetLets really think about this. Does anyone think that when bj penn is 100% and he uses his skills that there is no one able to beat him.

That's a big compliment coming from one of the top P4P fighters in the world

Tweetummm, what weight class are you talking about? Silva is the best fighter in the world and I don't even think him and BJ are even a close comparison. Say what you will about BJ, maybe he isnt fully motivated sometimes or doesnt train 100% or whatever, but thats part of the game. Bottom line is he doesn't always show up and I dont care how much "natural talent" he has he will never be the best. I mean look at the last fight Silva won, very impressive in the sense that he took a beating for 4 1/2 rounds and still had the composure to pull out a win. BJ had every opportunity to right the ship when he got the rematch win Frankie and he blew it IMO. Just look at how GSP fights; he soundly beats the guys he is supposed to, and when he got beat he acted like a champ and made zero excuses and busted his arse and kicked the dudes teeth in next time. Anderson is always saying crazy stuff in his interviews and he always says he doesn't think he is the best fighter in the world.
Saying BJ is the best fighter in the world is like saying Mike Vick is the greatest QB ever. Sure when compared to Tom Brady his measurables or "natural talent" are off the charts and don't even compare. (Brady ran like a 5.1 40 yd dash) But Brady did what he had to do to be the best and won super bowls and MVPs and Vick chose to live off his talent and be up and downand never win the big ones. Now Vick is actually doing what he needs to do to improve and is playing very well, but he will never be considered better than Brady; no comparison really.
TweetWhere is Shiz??? I posted this one up especially for him!
I think when you take everything, and I mean everything, into consideration....I can't really say that BJ is the best in the world. I think he could be, but I don't think he is at this point in time.
I think there is a very valid argument that GSP is ranked higher than Anderson in the P4P rankings. The only reason I say this and I am still not fully decided on the rankings, but GSP will beat his opponents in their own game. If they are stand up fighters, he will beat them standing. If they are ground fighters he will beat them on the ground. It doesn't matter, GSP never stops pressing the action until the final bell rings.
Anderson, on the other hand, will not go to the ground with elite grapplers. He will not always press the action, which is one result of not going to the ground with elite grapplers. That kind of raises the question mark of how good Anderson's ground game really is.
Don't get me wrong, Anderson is one of the top fighters in my book (After BJ, GSP, and now Anthony Pettis who has just blown my mind his last few fights), but GSP has a solid case in that race

TweetTHATS JUST IT...WHEN HE IS 100% AND COMPLETELY READY WITH HIS GAME FACE ON, HE IS UNSTOPPABLE AT 155. HIS INSTINCTS AND TRAINING KICKS IN AND HE IS AMAZING!
BUT, THE GAMBLE IS- WHICH BJ IS COMING TO FIGHT? THATS HIS PROBLEM. HES GOT TO GET WITH THE RIGHT CAMP AND TRAINERS AND GET OUT OF HAWAII AND START THINKING LIKE GSP ABOUT HIS TRAINING. GSP GETS AND HIRES THE BEST TRAINERS AND IT SHOWS.
TweetThe Difference is though, GSP hires the best trainers but he genuinely enjoys busting his azz in the gym everyday. Some people are like that. BJ doesn't have that constant drive IMO. He could get with a new camp and do well short term, but I would be surprised if he kept it up and pushed himself all out for the next 3 years or so. If he did...who knows? I personally think GSP is the most well rounded fighter and best overall athlete in MMA, but, Anderson has the longer win streak currently and he has fought in the LHW.
