TweetDoes anyone here wear these?
TweetDespite the claims, there is no convincing evidence that wearing toning shoes will make your legs more toned or cause you to burn extra calories.
Toning shoes are designed to simulate walking barefoot or walking on an uneven surface. Manufacturers say the unstable design of the shoes forces wearers to use their leg muscles more — which burns more calories and tones the muscles. However, an independent study by a nonprofit fitness organization found no evidence that wearing toning shoes leads to improved muscle tone or greater energy expenditure. In addition, there are no studies that prove that they improve balance or stability to a great degree.
If you like the way toning shoes look and find them comfortable and not too unstable, there's probably no harm in trying a pair. And if you increase your activity as a result, you'll benefit your overall health.

TweetThose shoes are a money making scam. People think they are getting a workout just by wearing those, so maybe there is a placebo effect. thats about it.
Did anyone see the thing on the news about the barefoot runners society? Barefoot running is becoming a new craze. Running barefoot is MORE natural than the most expensive running shoes. My oldest brother almost never wears shoes...He has no joint pain anywhere in his body. He runs barefoot. His soles are like leather. When he goes running by, people look at him in shock.LOL
Read the book "Born To Run"..Research is proving that running in padded shoes is harmful to the human structure.
TweetI have heard a lot of runners say this too! They are making running shoes now that are almost like socks for the people that can't take the barefoot running yet. I have talked with people that run barefoot...they run through the woods and everything barefoot. It's nuts, but they do say it's more natural.

TweetOh yes, it is awesome...I def want to do it..my bro runs through the woods barefoot..he has been doing it for years...there is an indian tribe in Mexico who run many miles a day barefoot...there are cultures that never wear shoes and they have none of the orthopedic/musculature problems that americans have...they say that when youre running barefoot, you land on the balls of the feet rather than the heel, and that is the way the human foot was designed to run...
I might invest in some of these Vibram Five fingers...https://www.vibramfivefingers.com/indexNA.htm

TweetThe typical human foot is an anatomical marvel of evolution with 26 bones, 33 joints, 20 muscles, and hundreds of sensory receptors, tendons and ligaments. Like the rest of the body, to keep our feet healthy, they need to be stimulated and exercised.
Stimulating the muscles in your feet and lower legs will not only make you stronger and healthier, it improves your balance, agility and proprioception.
