TweetI have a friend that owns his own store in NC. If you would like to pass along some contact info, I'll ask him if he would give you some pointers.
TweetI am wanting to start my own business. I have thought of several things to do in my area. But there is not a good supplement shop nearby. You can go to the mall which is a 30 min drive. We have 4 gyms in our area. There is a small vitamin shop in town but nothing special.
I would like to talk to someone and see what all is needed to get setup with the suppliers. And what you have done to be successful? And any other ideas.

TweetSo I talked with the building owner and everything is a go. The building is next to a High School which always has something going on. It is also next to Domino's a Hair Salon and a Accounting office.. Possibly a book store moving in as well. So the walk in traffic should be great. I will carry all the top selling suppliments and also run a smoothie bar.
The name of the shop is Xtreme Nutrition & Smoothies. I have to go get business license tomorrow and follow up with my suppliment wholesaler. Just letting everyone know this is moving forward.
As for selling products online. Once I get the store going I will work with Fuzo and get something going. If anyone has comments of what they would like to see in a store or what " Should " be in there please post it up....
TweetGood luck bro. Having your own business is the best and worst experience you will ever have. I have a subway franchise here in town. If you hire any employees you should have cameras on them to prevent stealing of product.
They call you paranoid until the worst happens, and in the aftermath they will call you a hero.
Tweetdamn thats some quick turnaround, best of luck to you
TweetThanks... We are working hard towards this. Purchased the domain tonight. I will have cameras and will inventory the stock once a week. I might try some other options also...
TweetHey Bicep. Back before my 06 Iraq deployement I was going to do a supp store. It was called Xtreme Nutrition. When we started getting ready to do our store now we were going to go with the same name but now its a big franchise in the South East. Based out of Louisiana and they cover all the big bodybuilding shows around here. Just sayin you might wanna look into a new name. DAMN FORGOT TO HIT CAPS AGAIN!!!
TweetIt is not just Xtreme Nutrition, It is Xtreme Nutrition and Smoothies. I don't know but I am sure it will look much different than theres. I will check trademarks and see if there is a problem. I have heard of both Extreme Nutrition and Xtreme Nutrition and I did see one store in Lousiana. Didn't see that they was a franchise. But I think my name with the addition to the wording using Smoothies will make it different. The logo and all will be different.
TweetThe only website for the one in Louisiana I could find is a myspace page. Kevin Miller I believe. I sent him a message through there. I want everything to be different than anyone elses and I am going to market it different also. I don't like original that's why I went with Xtreme....But guess anything now days is original...
