TweetTHIS IS GOING TO BE A BIG FIGHT!~!~
TweetMan I can't wait for this fight. I say Carwin by KO!!The biggest heavyweight title bout in UFC history is official as champion Brock Lesnar will defend his heavyweight championship against interim title holder Shane Carwin at UFC 116: Lesnar vs. Carwin, live from the MGM Grand Garden Arena on Saturday, July 3.
"When people wonder why the heavyweights capture the imagination of all fight fans, it's because of guys like Brock Lesnar and Shane Carwin," said UFC President Dana White. "Not only are they great athletes and former national wrestling champions, but they both have the ability to end a fight with one punch. This is one of those fights that you won't be able to turn away from because it can be over in a split second, and when it's over, only one will walk away as the undisputed UFC heavyweight champion of the world."
Lesnar was originally slated to face Carwin for the title last November until Lesnar fell ill after contracting diverticulitis. The bout was re-scheduled for this past January until it seemed like Lesnar's illness might be career-ending. Although his life hung in the balance, Lesnar was able to make a "miraculous" recovery and is excited to get back in the Octagon after a year-long layoff.
During that period, Carwin showed his dominance at the top of the division with an impressive win over Frank Mir at UFC 111. With the win, Carwin secured the interim heavyweight title and at 3:48 was the longest any professional fighter has gone with the former NCAA Division II national champion wrestler. Carwin is a perfect 4-0 in the UFC with three of his four finishes coming under two minutes, and now the Colorado native looks to stay undefeated and earn the undisputed UFC heavyweight championship.
"I have wanted a chance to compete against Brock since my college wrestling days," Carwin said. "He is an elite athlete who is always dangerous. His college wrestling background makes him extremely tough. I will be the first fighter he has faced who is equal in size. He won't be able to bully me or hold me down as he has others in the past. This is the biggest fight of my life. I think it can go down as one of the greatest fights in UFC history. I expect to have my hand raised and to become the REAL UFC heavyweight champion."
UFC 116: Lesnar vs. Carwin takes place on July 3, 2010 from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

TweetAt least we will get to see how they both do against people their own size. I think the UFC may have to create another division like a super heavy or something.
TweetGood catch! Carwin is a fairly confident fighter. I hope he doesn't let any doubt creep in. I think they both know they have competition here and will (hopefully) have a great training camp and no injuries so there won't be any doubts here. I agree that Brock is probably the more agile fighter. We will see....it should be a good one.
Who thinks it will end quick?

TweetFrom what I read he said "I expect" not I would expect. I don't see the need to look into it that much, he is just giving his thoughts on the matter. My personal opinion is that he is a more dangerous fighter with a proven track record of success. I am betting on Brock losing by KO.
