    Florian vs Maynard in Boston

    I just got off the phone with Kenny Florian. Without ever naming his opponent, Florian made it clear that he will be facing Gray Maynard in his next fight, which will be part of the UFC’s Boston card on Aug. 28. When I mentioned Maynard’s name to Florian, he made it clear that’s who he’ll be fighting next.
    "That will be a great fight," Florian said. "He’s a great fighter and he called me out (before Florian fought Takanori Gomi two weeks ago). It’s been said that he could have a tough style for me so I’m excited for that challenge."
    Well, I guess we will get to see what Maynard is really about. He wanted to fight Edgar but I think that's because he has beaten him before and Edgar now has the title. I don't see Maynard beating Florian. I have never really liked Florian but he is starting to grow on me. He has gotten really technical since being on TUF.

    I guess this is also a for sure sign that Edgar will be fighting BJ next.

        I am so excited UFC is coing to my home town!!!!!

        I guess one could argue Florian hasn't fought "anyone" but he doing pretty damn good in my book

          Well, he has fought some tough guys. He still hasn't beaten Sherk though. Maynard will be tough because he has some good hand speed and is very strong with good wrestling. Kenny's standup has gotten pretty good over the years. It looked better in his last fight, but with the way his opponent fought, anyone's standup would have looked good. We will see though....the one thing I like about Kenny is that he will bring the fight to you. He doesn't waste a lot of time.
