The fight went to the last 2 rounds because Anderson didn't put him away. Not because he couldn't but because he was obviously trying to make Maia look stupid.
Chael wouldn't have made it to the last 2 rounds. Anderson would have put him away quickly because he knows that Chael has a better chance at getting him down. You could have stuck anyone in there the last 2 rounds and said "they would have beat him." But if Anderson didn't want it going that far, it wouldn't have.
