TweetIf you are eating clean and are 500 or so calories below your maintenance level, is cardio a necessity to lose weight or will the clean eating under maintenance take care of the weight loss?

TweetYeah, you can cause you are in a cal deficit, but ive seen alot of ppl that do that and are way overweight and dont do cardio and what happens is alot of loose skin and not tight. Only way you can get rid of loose skin then is going under the knife with the plastic surgeon..and scars. Do you want that??
TweetUm im not really sure what you mean here, but if you are over weight enough that when you lose weight you will have lose skin that requires surgery doing cardio will not help make that skin any tighter. The skin has been stretched past it's elasticity point and is now stretch for life. As far as is cardio needed to lose weight no. But it will help you see better results and will help you feel better along with strengthening the heart.
TweetRemember that your body is burning calories as it digests whole foods (whole clean foods) so if your burning calories hitting cardio-that allows your body to eat more clean calories which your body then in turn has to burn up. So if your hitting the cardio hard and burning up for example 1000 cal per day then you can eat an additional 500 cal and still be cal deficient!! Plus it speeds the whole process up-make the results for all that tastless food worth while.
TweetI still haven't started any cardio. I have been playing around with a few different diet types to see which fits me the best. But I can see that I am going to have to hit some cardio to get the results I am looking for

Tweeti'm not gonna lie...i dont do cardio...i try...i baught a very badass treadmill back in 2006....i've been on it a few dozen times (when it was new) but i can do it. i manipulate my nutrition and change my workout program. i do higher reps and shorter break between sets and do alot of giant stes. my abs are almost all the way in, (never achieved that this soon in the spring/summer, but i did have a little help this time), and i havnt stepped on a treadmil. and i'm not a naturaly skinny guy...i've always been a bit of a fatass growing up...last summer i went dont from 225 to 197 without cardio....this year i started at 228....i'm at 212 now.
i think its a matter of intensity...if you can sweat your ass off moving weights, your going to loose fat...

TweetCardio is also important not only to burn extra calories and speed up metabolism ,if you do cardio in a fasted state like first thing in the am,after 20min it should have depleted any blood sugar floating around,and switch to alternative feul source for the remaining 25 to 40 min your on the treadmill,that's why I favour 45min to 60 minute low intensity sessions first thing in the am.
