      Anybody else get migraine headaches?

I started getting them in 2nd grade. Then I went years with only getting a few. Now, over the past 10yrs, I'll randomly have one. I might have 5, or so, a year now. And they are bad. It putts my ass down. I can't even stand up straight because the pounding would be too bad. It pounds with my pulse, I think.
If I can manage to out medicate it. My head will be sore for a couple days, like someone beat the inside of my head with a hammer.

You need medication when a migraine comes on and not just a advil something strong. Go lay in a bath and let the cold water run down your head I used to do that and it would help. I also would take a xanax to relax me but ice paks or a bath while resting in the water or like I said let the water run down your head. Or pain medication.

I used to take some tabs that disolved in my mouth. I forget the name. A neurologist prescribed them to me. I think they're pretty common for migraines, but they didn't seem to work that well for me. I have figured out my own concoction, kinda like you mentioned, and it works pretty good. I need to try a warm bath with a cold pak, or cool water, on my head. That sounds like that would be nice. It's always right up in the front of my head. Just behind my forehead.

That must really suck! I use to get really bad headaches that would last all day and by the end of the day I would feel sick. Turned out to be allergies. I have seasonal allergies meaning I'm allergic to everything that blooms plus trees, grass and ragweed. Highly allergic to dust mites which is really fun. I went through 5 yrs of allergy shots and it really did help. I now can make it though spring and fall with out any sinus infections. I still feel like crap, but at least no more headaches and infections.

Then several years ago I started seeing a flashing-like light. I'm not ever sure how to describe it. I asked my eye doctor about it. It starts off small and then gets bigger until it completely goes away. Last about 5-10 minutes. He said I was having optical-migraine. I'm very lucky that I don't have the pain that goes with it.

I find it's mostly are stress related. I haven't had one in awhile. <knock on wood> Hopefully I won't have it again for a long time. They make me feel dizzy and sick.

yep. Thankfully mine is easing off. Somehow, I can go right to sleep when it gets bad like it was this morning, but i had to get some things done. I can notice it's still there, but I can deal with this. I too get 'em so bad that I'm dizzy and sick. I used to wonder why I had to repeat everything I said to my wife, or mother when I had one. I was like, 'damnit...please don't make me speak."lol...but I get so bad that my speach gets real slurred. I wouldn't be messed up, or anything, just the migraine was that bad. I thought the words were coming out crystal clear, but obviously not.

I have had migraines since 3rd grade, I actually remember my first one. I was so confused and nervous cause I get an aura with mine that screws up my vision real bad for 30-120 min or so. I get cluster migraines, so when i get one I can bank on getting 2-5 more in the next week or 2. But then may go months without one. When I was little I had to use suppositories (sp) cause I would throw up all day. Now its usually just the aura which sucks real bad cause I cant see and crazy throbbing pain which can last for 1-3 days. Homeopathic remedies work pretty well for me and I dont feel washed out like the doctor meds. Look up Butturbur, its cheap and can even help prevent the migraine if taken every day. Anyway, they suck and glad I dont have them worse.
