  • Popping floors???

Any of you ever have to fix any popping floors in your house? I have a crawlspace and the floors are covered in carpet, which I don't want to pull up if I don't have to. I was thinking that I could get under the house and maybe use some screws to correct it from the bottom.

    What do you guys think?

i would think that you could shim them or draw them down with screws. we had to shim our when i was a kid.. i got wooden floors and in the winter time they shrink and make all kinds of racket....during the summer, when they are swollen, they dont make any noise. i'd say you could do it from bellow

It's not that, I don't think. It seems like some of the nails have worked their way up (which I guess me be because they aren't level). But anyway, what's the best way to fix that?

Screws from underneath then apply a plastic sheeting in the crawlspace to eliminate some of the moisture which is the cause of the wood flooring movement to begin with.
Get a partner above to stand on the bulges and hold them down if he can, also to tell you if your screws are being effective holding them.
Whatya got a dirt floor in the crawlspace? Plastic should help alot.
