If it was a good call, Dana would not have said that. Jones may have said that in his interview, but if you read his lips and Greg Jackson's lips in his corner, you can see them saying it was bull and that he got screwed.

Tweetif the illegal elbow was the reason he couldnt continue then it should have been a no contest. hamil couldnt continue due to a shoulder injury... originally it was a 1 point deduction but then when hamil couldnt contiue they changed the ruling. its unfortunate but jones should have been smarter. shit happens. hamil got dominated ... maybe we will see a rematch. I personally think the fight should have been stopped before the illegal blows. but everyone is always on mazzigati's ass for stopping fights.

Actually, just to tell the whole story, the ref stopped the fight and took away a point. Then he came back to Hamill to see if he was okay. Hamill could not finish the fight, (because of his shoulder, not the strikes) so declared it a NC. But the judges went back and looked at the replay and saw the illegal strikes, so they turned it over to a DQ. Now the problem with that is, they should have went back and saw that Hamill was unable to finish BEFORE the illegal strikes (or at least that is what Hamill himself said post fight). SO Jones got screwed.
