TUF last night

You know, I'm not saying that I like Roy's attitude or saying that he is the best fighter in the world or anything, but it kills me that he caught so much crap about laying on top of people and using his weight to control them when Marcus did the exact same thing and got praised for it. Hell, Marcus probably didn't throw 3 punches the entire show. And it went just about like I thought it would once someone landed shots on him. It was obvious from his first fight that he did not want to get hit.

And those little "baby" punches that everyone said Roy was throwing, sure did bloody up McSweeney(sp?) last night. And old Big Country made it to the finals....*cough* *cough*....never saw that one coming

I missed that but did get a call after the show was over and got told about it. Roy used the same plan as kimbo and I heard that the other guy was winning then got ****y and got caught and then he went down and roy got on top of him. And also heard marcus had this fight in the bag but then it got stood up or something and got hit.

The guy Roy was fighting came out fast and he was controlling the pace and he did get ****y, but once Roy landed the right hand, that guy was pretty much out on his feet. It was over after that shot even though it went to the ground.

As far as Marcus goes, he took Brennan down and got mount or whatever, but it didn't get stood up. Brennan "got up." He just ran BJJ 101 on getting up from the bottom. He stood up and once he landed a shot on Marcus, it was over. I had a feeling that Marcus wouldn't fair well when he started getting hit in the face. So Marcus didn't have the fight in the bag, Brennan was just too good on the ground for Marcus to keep him down and Marcus has no standup at all and Brennan beat him down after that.

but marcus didnt do it every time. He had a arm bar one time and marcus took his oppnt down sufficinetly. I saw the show today roy would of lost big time f that moron would of stuck to the game plan and didnt show boat

Marcus tried to get his opponent in that same spot every time. The time he got the arm bar is because he was on bottom. How can you say Roy would have lost big time? It as obvious all he had to do was land one right hand which could have been landed no matter what the other guy did. The sad thing is, the other guy had no ground game. If it would have went to the ground any time during the fight, Roy would have owned him because McSweeney didn't have any ground game at all....that's why he was trying to stay away from him. Roy would have won that fight either way.

If Roy sucks so bad and the other fighters are so good.... they should have been able to get him off of them and win. I mean look how big Marcus is and how Brennan got up....you just have to know what you are doing.

well, Roy has alot of pro fights, why has he one.

A. the guy is much quicker than you think, even at that weight

B. accuracty in punching, most folks don't know how important this is yet it's a huge key, next time you watch silva note how 80% of his punches, and he don't throw alot of em, land exactly to the point where he wants them

C speed and accuracy along with some power and that's deadly combo

imho that's why dana hates him, he's a tub with major talent and he, so he screams out with the tub slacker with potential which almost always ends in loser

Marcus tried to get his opponent in that same spot every time. The time he got the arm bar is because he was on bottom. How can you say Roy would have lost big time? It as obvious all he had to do was land one right hand which could have been landed no matter what the other guy did. The sad thing is, the other guy had no ground game. If it would have went to the ground any time during the fight, Roy would have owned him because McSweeney didn't have any ground game at all....that's why he was trying to stay away from him. Roy would have won that fight either way.

Not to mention that he hasn't been involved with a team. He has mostly trained himself.

I'm sure it isn't easy, but Marcus weighs as much or more than Roy and Brennan got up, that's all I'm saying. I agree, it could have went either way IF the guy would have stuck to his game plan. But I feel confident in saying that Roy would have found a way to win before it was over.

It doesn't matter if it's fat or muscle when it comes to getting it off of you.

What? You don't know much about Roy do you? Roy has a lot of BJJ knowledge. He has beaten Frank Mir in grappling matches before and Frank is one of the best BJJ HWs there is....

Hell, if I could get that position every time, I would too. There are a ton of fighters that try their best to get that position in the UFC, they just can't get it. It was maid famous by Ivan Salaverry....it's not something that Roy just made up or anything.
