I am an automatic kind of guy. Higher round capacity, ease of reloading etc.
But occasionally I love to shoot a couple revolvers that I have in 357 magnum.

The S&W Chiefs Special is a hammerless with a ported barrel and Hogue monogrip. Got it from a gun dealer who did an excellent trigger job that lets off at about a pound of pull. He polished the trigger too!

The Rossi 6" heavy target barrel is also fitted with a factory rubber grip.
It's a well made Brazilian copy of a S&W design.

Both are sweet shooters with the shorty good to any room size and the target model good to about 40-50 yards. My eyes are the limiting factor there, as I'm sure it will reach out a little farther.

Anybody else like the old school revolvers for balance and feel?

I would like to have a go with a long barrel .357/.38 and see how well I can hit with one. Those things produce some tight groups.

Another good thing about those long barrel, "dirty harry" lookin wheel guns, is the intimidation factor. Just the sight of it is enough for some folks. Makes it a gun you might not have to shoot in a "scary situation", which is good.

      Sweet guns!

Those look nice. I'm down to just a Charter Arms 38 snubby at the moment , but have started leaning back to the wheel guns lately

I always go 357 here...you can choose to practice with the 38 round for economy and then carry the magnum rounds for defense. Some choose the 38 for home defense because of the 357's nasty habit of blowing through your intruder and on through a couple walls... more sheetrock to patch and the possibility of collateral damage if anyones behind those walls that your care about.
But for general plinking, punching power and plain old flat shoot accuracy...
      I love the 357!

Oh don't get me wrong- I prefer 357 to 38 due to being able to shoot either in a 357, but I was made a heck of a deal on that snubby, I couldn't pass it up. If I buy another- it will be a 357

My LDA is a damn doorstop! I love it for shooting and short term carry, but it is heavy enough that its the designated bedside model. Nice case my brother made custom for it and a couple extra mags and a flashlight...

Had a 1991 model Colt and it wasn't that bad to carry on the belt, but I'm carrying in a gun pocket in a leather vest and the weight of my Smith wore a hole on the leather gun pocket and used to rip the stitching out of the shoulder before I had a rivet installed. J.R.

Does anyone else have a problem with shoulder holsters? Unless I come off of $200 fpr a Galco(sp), all the shoulder holsters I've used I might as well been left in a drawer, they postioned the gun so far back that by the time I found it , unsnapped it and pulled it I would've been shoot. I've never even put a shoulder holster on. I've wondered about them.
