Tweet^ and Dell's hard to beat.
The kid at Wal-Mart was showing me that Avis?? or Avia??? something like that, but it was inexpensive. They even made this little thing with a 10" screen that is just for the internet. No disc or dvd drive. It was $299, If I remember correct. His computer geeky self was all about those cheap things, but if you can grab a decent Dell for that much, go with the Dell fa sho.
TweetYep- DELL is very hard to beat, did anyone mention there in Texas-LOL
TweetI f***ked up and got an HP notebook at bestbuy and it was about $1200...got a bunch of crap I dont need and yes, I feel like I got ripped off but it was too late when I finally realized I messed up..But it is an ok computer. I wish I had gotten a bigger laptop too. This thing is too small. What the f**k was I thinking? LOL
Tweetso everyones thinking dell?

Tweetout of every computer i've ever used, for work and for home/not work. Laptops to desktops, Compaq, HP, Fujitsu, Sony, Panasonic (tuffbook), Gateway, etc...Dell takes the cake in both Laptop and Desktop.
Every computer I've ever owned, and/or worked with, has had it's quirks...locking-up on a regular basis, shutting down, etc...Of cousre I've had a Dell lock-up, but it's a rarety compared to the rest. I used to say the 2 things that piss me off most; people and computers, but after not useing anything but Dell for the last few years, I don't have any constant computer harassment.
Tweethuh....never had a prob with my gateway.....ever

TweetThe Gateway we had was my wife's before we got married, and it had Windows Mellenium...so...I'll blame it on that.?..but, it was garbage. That had to be the worst. That thing didn't work for shyt. Pissed me off more than any other computer on this planet.
TweetHaving used 3 different Dells since '04. 2 laptops and a desktop, I can say with good experience that they have all 3 been the best. hands down.
Tweeti have dells and Hp's but you may want to check out Vizio. From what i understand and i did not know this, Vizio has come a long way. Especially with TV's.
TweetEverlast and I bought a great inexpensive eMachine around Christmas when his laptop bit the dust. It's been a good laptop.
Tweeti think gateway owns e-machine now....MAY LOOK INTO THAT.
also heard about the vizio tv's...i dont know tho

TweetWe've got a Vizo HDTV, and I've had Vizo monitors before too. Very good products especially their monitors.
Tweetacer owns e-machine. Also, I would go with a Dell also. A normal computer now a days has 4GB of ram, at least a 2.5GHz duel core processor, a decent graphics card, and around a 500 MB hard drive. you can usually get something like this for around 500-600 dollars. Think i saw one at bestbuy for 550 that was like this and a Dell, go check them out. However, if you dont need a laptop, i would go with a desktop, you can get a really nice one for 500-600 bucks, thats what I just did, but i built it myself.
