TweetOk I have had this old outlet in the wall that needed replacing well I took the old one out just for my benefit I copied what wires went were just incase I forgot. So I went and bought a new one and put it back in and god damnit the lite switch doest turn the light on anymore you have to go to the lite to turn it on.
You have your hot side then you have your neutral side-white. well the one red wire went to one side of the hot side screw then the orange wire went to the other side screw. then the white wire went back to the other side of the 1 screw and I hooked it all back up and the wall switch wont turn it on. I have the wires in the same place as the old one.talk about weird
heres a pic. ok as you can see theres supposed to be 2 screws. so one side there is one white wire wrapped around 1 screw. then go to the other side and thers one red wire wrapped around 1 screw the the other orange wire is wrapped around the othern screw. one side is gold one side is silver. one side is hot one side is nuetral .I know wtf i'm doing this has me baffled.
