I need some info about careers please

TweetI finished with my BS in Exercise Science and physical education (K-12) this last May. I was wondering if anyone had any idea what the best career field to get a masters in and if you knew of any good online schools?

I'd like to get a masters in exercise science or kinesiology. what really fascinates me is the link between the brain and the body and especially how hormones and chemicals play such a prominant role. Also, I find it remarkable how much what we consume (nutrition) from our environment can impact our mental state and physical state through triggering these chemicals.

I guess moreso than anything I need a little direction. Any ideas? Thank you sooo much!

Tweetwow...i'm WAY too stupid to help you, lol...honest, but dumb as a rock. i'm just looking into my personal training cert now! what direction do you WANT to go in life. like...i want a gym. not just any gym, but a sucessful one, lol...i'm gonna do the issa cert. then the nutrition cert. then the senior citizen training cert...i'm going towards a specific goal....whats your goal?

TweetLOL thanks for being honest daved. Honestly, I'm kind of lost at this point. The only thing I can think of that makes me trully happy is being in the gym and working out. I can teach PE and I found that I absolutely loved teaching weight lifting, health and nutrition to high school kids when I did my student teaching. I love sports, but to tell you the truth I'm about 80% in that area of wanting to teach "games". Don't get me wrong, I'll do it, but it will be difficult to start out which is fine--I love challenges. There really aren't many jobs in that area. All I know is I want a career. No more pay check to pay check bs.

My main goal for right now is to find some way to stay in the gym and make money. I thought of personal training. Gotta make the money to take the test and all that.I have to narrow down what I want to do and that's my weak point because there is just sooo much I CAN do. Does that make sense? See what I mean--- I'm lost lol.

Tweetwell...i've been a salesman all my life...mostly autosale/salesmanagement. i USED to like it...shyt...i USED too LOVE IT!!!! it was my life!! the whole thing was different...it was a lifestyle, not just a job. the only people who really understood us was other salespeople...AUTOSALES people. but...it's different now and it dont make me happy no more. i find that i too am most happy in the gym.
i'm gonna get my issa cert. i'm gonna try hard to go to work at a gym in a more afluant part of the area (yea...there's a couple left) and i'm gonna try selling personal training and doing it! then...work towards nutrition...then senior training...then...maybe my own gym.
i know, everytime i left the autosales industry before, i really missed it...i felt soemthing was missing...i dont think i'll have that prob with this...i think this can work. my heart will be in it

TweetThat's great!!!! It's reasuring to know that you have a direction and to know where you will be going. It's even better when it's something you love. I went for a PE interview today. I did better than the first one, but I don't think I got it. It's a process I guess. I'm learning how to interview. I need to be a salesperson and sell myself. I find it kind of hard because I don't have that sales mentality. Regardless, I need to get it if I want to land a job. I've always said actions speak louder than words and I just want to show them how good of a teacher I am rather than tell them. Unfortunately, that's not how it works. Ah well--just got to accept the challenge =)

Tweeti think ANYONE can sell. seriously! we all sell something at sometime. think back to when you was a kid and you wanted something...did you turn the charm on daddy? all cute and innocent? yea...that was selling yourself, lol...now i'm not saying go in there and sit on the future employers lap (in some cases, i'm sure that would work just fine, lol), i'm saying, remember how bad you want it and sell why they NEED you....why your PERFECT for the job. why you, AND ONLY YOU, can get the job done better, more efficiantly, and more effectively than any other prospect. your a team player and would love nothing better than to join their team!!! if you can commit to our lifestyle, you can do that!!! just set your mind to it and go!!

His philosophy is the old addage, "give a man a fish and he eats for the day. teach him how to fish, and he eats for a lifetime." He is kind of like a Tony Robbins type guy. He is going to teach people how to motivate themselves towards training, eating, personal finances, sleep habits, etc.... He also had a B.S. in Kinesiology. He bought a building with a kitchen so he show people how to prepare raw foods and cooked foods, he's putting in some exercise equipment, and spoke to a priest/pastor from several religious denominations to come speak to the people. If a client comes in who's Protestant, he can call his Protestant pastor up and give him $50 to come speak to the client on several topics. I think given the timing with the economy and stuff, he will do well.

Oh absolutely. I think you should sell your home, car, stocks, cash in your 401k, and move everything to North Korea. This country is in financial trouble. We'll all be in the soup lines in a month
We'll be out of the recession by January.
