Anderson Silva's weight?

TweetAnyone curious as to why Anderson's weight was so low last night? I feel like is getting his weight in check for a GSP fight, if GSP wins his next one. Anyone else think this?

Either that or they will fight at a catch weight. I don't think GSP has a chance really. GSPs fighting style plays right into Anderson's style. Anderson is quicker, better movement, better striking, good takedown defense and better ground game. And GSP has shown that he doesn't have alot of KO power. That combined with Anderson's chin is going to make for a long night for GSP. I am a fan of both and hope that GSP can win his next fight so this will happen.

TweetThe thing with Anderson is that he hasn't shown all of his skills yet I don't think. I think he is the type of fighter that only uses enough of his talent to fight at his opponents' level. If his opponent steps it up a notch, then he just raises it that much more. I still don't think we have seen the full Anderson Silva arsenal.

TweetHere is my thoughts on the GSP fight. There is a "chance" that he could win just because they are cream of the crop fighters. I don't personally see any way that it will happen though. Here are my reasons why:

1) Striking-Anderson has better striking. He is more accurate(lands like 80+% of his strikes), has more reach, has a bigger arsenal of striking. He has better hands with more power. He has as much or better speed than GSP. He has MUCH MUCH better movement than GSP.

2) Wrestling-GSP has better wrestling obviously but Anderson has shown to have very good TD defense. Anderson is a big strong guy also. He cuts alot to make 185.

3) Ground game- Anderson is leaps and bounds better at BJJ than GSP. He is very active from guard and does better than anyone I have seen in a while at controlling fighters' posture. He has long limbs and a strong chin!

4) Mental game- They are both very strong mentally and have big hearts. Both are very confident in what they do. But like I said previously, I don't think Anderson has shown everything yet and that is a very strong mental aspect that I think he has over GSP.

5) Cardio- Even. Both guys could fight ALL night if they had to!!

I just think the odds are heavily against GSP in this fight. He will have to gain weight and fight at a heavier weight than he is used to and we have all seen how that affects fighters' speed and cardio. Anderson is a big guy too, lets not forget. He would be a big guy at 205! GSP is a smart fighter and is good at what he does, but I think that Anderson is just as smart if not smarter. He is not going to take any stupid chances. If Dan Henderson couldn't KO Anderson with his power....there is NO WAY that GSP can. GSP will have to outscore Anderson to win this fight and that is his only shot!
