Barack Obama's White House says the president did not bow to the Saudi King when they met during the recent G-20 meeting in London.


If you think he did, you're just believing your lying eyes.


So reports Politico's Ben Smith Wednesday.


"It wasn't a bow. He grasped his hand with two hands, and he's taller than King Abdullah," an anonymous Obama aide told Politico.


The aide made the assertion despite a video showing Obama bending almost to a 90-degree angle as he met King Abdullah.


And Politico notes that the Arab press have reported on the "bow" — with favorable reviews.


The occasion may mark the first time a U.S. president has bowed to a foreign potentate.

TweetI saw the bow. It was a bow and any Obama aide saying it was anything besides that is full of shit. Ok, so maybe he didnt mean anything with it, but I think that it speaks volumes about Obamas unconscious mind. He bowed to the king unconsciously, which is scary. An automatic reaction on his part to seeing the King in his robe. What does that say? Bush sucked saudi arabias ass but at least he never physically bowed down to them.

TweetIslamic elders have Obama's utmost respect. I'm sure Obama looks up to that Saudi king like a god. That's how he was raised. It's his natural reaction to bow down in that situation. Obama's father, step-father, mentors, and friends alike were or would have probably taken that moment as a higher point than Obama becoming president of a country they despise.

The president of the United States of America bows to an arab king. We were unfortunate enough to see the day.
