Tweet02 is on point. They're getting sweeter and sweeter every 2 yrs. I've ridden the model R6 you've had. The 2CO ('06-07 R6) is a mean machine. An animal in it's own right when it comes alive. I had to put my ole rabid 07 R6 down. She'd lost 'er mind The '08 R6 (13S) is a totally refined model Yamaha SS with some 50+ changes to the engine alone. The man that built Rossi's M1 got his hands dirty on the 13S. Having the background that you have, and enjoying what Yamaha has put out, I guarantee you'd have a permanent grin on your face for a month if you got a 13S model.
You can't go wrong with a Honda. Always on top.
Pick your liter bike, and scratch that itch if you want. Like someone else said. I think a Buell would be odd to a sportbiker. It isn't something you can't get used to, and might just enjoy though.
TweetPERSONALLY IF IT WAS ME....I WOULDNT EVEN CONSIDER A LITER BIKE. ANYONE CAN GO FAST IN A STRAIGHT LINE. LEARN TO RIDE THE RIGHT WAY ON THAT 600 OR 750 ON A TRACK AND NO 1000 CAN TOUCH YOU AROUND TOWN! UNLESS YOU WANT TO JUST LOOK GOOD. THERES NO ROAD LONG ENOUGH FOR THAT MUCH POWER UNLESS YOUR ON A TRACK
AND...THE ONLY WAY A 1000 CAN TOUCH ME ON THE TRACK IS ON THE STRAIGHTS!! AND THATS SOME FUN!!
TweetI looked at an 07 r1 this weekend. 3k miles. $7k. its a lil more then i want to spend but im not sure yet. I also looked at an 06 r6 for $6,200.
