I think we all to some degree workout to be attractive to the opposite sex. If you don't want your mate to stray or have a wanderiing eye, you need to make yourself attractive. So in some sense -Yes you do

Totally disagree here! I workout because of what it does for ME and how it makes ME feel. So you are saying unless you keep yourself in good shape and stay fit, that your mate might stray? If you truly love your mate, you love them in whatever way they are. No excuse to stary or have a wandering eye just because your significant other may not be up to par with your standards. As long as they are happy with themselvves, you should be too.

But society has taught us to think this way. Take a step back and think for a minute we have been taught as a society throughout the years that lean and in shape is what is attractive. In other cultures and societies it's been different.

For instance look at the Somoans in Hawaii....there idea of "attractive" or 'ideal" body is that of a larger person.

The article stated that women exercise their butt off for men and I was simply responding back that is not true at all. At least it is not for me.

Yes being lean and fit is much more attractive, but if your mate is not "lean and fit", that does not make them unattractive. Also, it does not warrant a reason to stray or have wandering eyes.

I agree with this ---- to a point.

And yes I think people should and do workout for themselves and how they feel about themselves.
I know I started for me and only me - not to get chicks or anything of the sort.
In fact I was recently split with my ex and had no desire to even talk to women so I started as I'm sure many men and women do --- for themselves!

BTW - I didn't read the article yet - I can't open unapproved sites at work so the link doesn't do me any good just yet.

BUt with regard to the rest of it --- If my wife were to let herself go and simply let her body go to Sh!t then I would very likely leave her. And believe me, she knows it.

If she doesn't repsect herself enough to stay in some kind of healthy shape long term then she really doesn't care about herself or my feeling towards her either. I would expect no different from her.
I'm also not talking about a bit overweight or putting on a couple of pounds or even more than a couple for a period of time if she was stressed out or working overload, lost a parent or what ever - but long term not giving a rats arse how you look or your health - - sorry, I'm out.

They can as happy with themselves as they want to be but there is a limit.
I'm not attracted to fat people and love or no love doesn't change that fact.
If it was beyond the persons control then that is a totally different scenario but simply not caring - that is enough to make me walk.

And loving them wouldn't neccesarily change but the respect for ones self is important.

I love my mother and my brohter but they are both so overweight I honestly choose not to spend much time or associate with either one of them.
If you don't respect yourself enough to try to stay somewhat healthy then I would just as soon not associate myself with it.
I don't hang around crack addicts or coke users for the same reason.

Some may say that's shallow but to be honest.....I really don't care.

I don't think that women work their butts off for men. I do it for me and Dave supports that. Maybe that is what German men think women do!

      Oh, of course it is!!
She really meant to say that Dave but you just read it wrong! LOL!!

I think a woman who works out solely for men will likely turn to a lazy, non-workout type of person as soon as they land a man.
You can usually tell from talking to them in five minutes.

The women like booboo and baby1 along with the other women who workout for themselves are the ones that are in it for the long haul and it shows.
Not only in the way they look - that's secondary, but in the way they feel about themselves and then natural sexiness that comes from it!!!

      Way to go ladies!!!!

I don't workout for women. I workout so I can enjoy having lots of sex with them. Well that's probably where the majority of my motivation comes from. Just because I'm married doesn't mean I want my sex life to crumble, so sex is still the majority of my motivation.

Every time I see an obese person I just can't believe someone would do that to their sex life but then again they probably don't have one and that's what I mean. I want lots of sex and I want to want lots of sex - staying fit does that.

I work out for me.....not for a man. If my sparkling personality cant get a man - then a body wont do it......lol!!! Seriously, I think an ad campaign geared towards men thinking that woman work out for men is just stupid! I got my girls for me. Not for a man.

      RIGHT ON QUIRKY!

Another one of our wonderful and sexy ladies showing again that it really is about them not some guy.
A person who really puts in the effort and wants to make changes to their body do it for themselves and not anyone else.
It's also those types of people, like the ladies here and a lot of us, that will actually make those changes happen.
Do it for yourself and you'll see the rewards - do it for someone esle and regardless of how great a shape someone can get into it's still unfulfilling.

      OUR FG LADIES ROCK!!
