The only problem with it is they have no way to regulate the home grower.
Any body with a flouresent bulb and a pot and water can grow a plant.

That's largely the reason they've never done it.
Remember it used to be legal.

They just can't make money off of it.

Make the grower purchase a license each year to generate funds. take the licensing process, and force inspections of the "greenhouses" used for commercially distributed pot, to make sure the used chemicals are being disposed of properly (fee for inspection), and to make sure there is no black mold because of the increased humidity and temps. (inspection=revenue). Then any commercially distributed pot would be subject to taxation when sold to the distributor and to the end user. Pretty much, if only growing for personal use, then there should be no tax in my opinion, like growing corn. But if commercially distributed, should be taxed ridiculously

they have no way of stopping people from growing a lot of things but if big companies mass produced it like corn, tobacco, and other organics then they would run the others out of business with their much lower prices and higher volume. People are way to lazy to grow there own weed.

      Both very, very good points!!!
And both totally reasonable and true.

So who here belongs to NORML and has seen what they are doing on this issue????
It would sure as heck boost some tax revenue for comercially run operations and a tax on the final product would be generated as well.

It truly could be a win / win

people make their own beer dude. i've been saying they should do that for years....yea, they cant regulate the homegrower, just like they cant regulate the home brewer...but the conviencce of buying it ready to smoke, on top of the fact that the gov. could produce, package and sell some REAL top shelf shyt, would FAR outweigh the home growers....i'm not, and havnt even hit a joint in 20yrs or more (other then that time with chong....BUT C'MON...IT WAS FUKIN CHONG MAN)...i think that they should do it.

fukers need to look at ALL these laws!! re-eveluate and get the fukin ptiorities in line!!! they got our shyt all fuked up!
HE WHO MAKES A BEAST OF HIMSELF, GET'S RID OF THE PAIN OF BEING A MAN!!
