Tweet.. a question was asked if youd choose the president (i assumed ANY president) to save over your wife and kids or not. i always thaught a harder question was...
would you sacrafice the life of your spouse (or sig. other) over your child or not? if it came down to it...only one or the other could live...which would you choose?

I saw a show on NGHD about the "evil" mind. What makes people act evil... It was interesting. It talked about the terrible acts in Africa. It was a documentary. It had doctors, professor, an African phylanthropist, etc...Well these two guys, that were studying the parts of the mind that "light up" during these type of tough decisions, asked questions like this. One that they asked, they put you in an African setting where your tribe is in hiding, in the jungle, from the militant/rebels. The question: "would you smother your crying baby for to not give up the location of your tribe...to save everyone else?"

but, to the question. A female is precious. A female child with a whole life ahead is more precious. There are too many variables. I think that....I'll save the dissertation and let some folks answer that can just answer the question

We have lived a decent life, maybe a little short but we have lived. My kids haven't even had a chance yet.
I hope to God nothing like this will ever present itself.

my wife would live! no doubt about it. with no other options, and no option of it being me instead (good try deep), i'd save my wife. i love all my kids very much. i would certainly give MY life for there's...but i couldnt possibly give my wife's. i know the option i'd pick would end up killing us both...even so, i cant fool myself, she'd live.

you make a good point- if it was up to her she would say save the kids as would I- the only thing is if I would choose her- I wouldn't be able to survive without her and if I chose the kids- she would never let me live it down and we would probably both not survive without them- its a lose lose situation now matter how you add it up.

exactly!! funny thing is
a) she'd choose the kid. (i'd be SO toast, lol)
b) even KNOWING what you said to ba ABSOLUTELY dead on...i'd STILL choose her!


(oh...and it's only 1 kid. i'd still have a couple left. not that, thats a consilation prize or something, just trying to be clear. fukin morbid, but clear!))

i know....i'd pick my wife to live anyways. i would....it's absolute

ya know...maybe i'm fuked up, becouse it'd be a fast decission too! no doubts about it. wouldnt even have to think. i'd have remorse i'm sure. it would be crushing after the fact....but, thats the way it'd be.
glad i dont believe it'll ever come to that
