TweetI can't get over the massive amount of water. That's like a mountain of water. Absolutely amazing! Those big wave surfers are crazy. They have to be.
TweetThis is pretty wild. This is just before the swell gets kicked up by the reef. The surfer has to get pulled into the wave by jetski at about 40mph. There ain't no paddling into one of these monsters.

"A daredevil surfer is pictured tackling a giant 41 foot wave in a bid to win himself a prestigious award.
Kerby Brown took on the monster during a session at a top secret reef, and nearly didn't live to tell the tale.
Moments after these pictures were taken, he suffered a devastating wipeout which nearly killed him."

TweetThere's no back to it! It's just like a huge, massive, change in tide. And he says he wants to do it again after barely surviving. He wiped out shortly after this pic was snapped.

I LOVE BOOBOOKITTY...
Tweetwhere is this?
TweetI don't know, they just referred to it in the story as the secret reef they found. I watched a show on big wave surfers about a year or so ago on NGHD, I think it was, and they traveled off the coast of California about 150miles in the middle of the Pacific, and all the sudden they pull up on this huge break. It was crazy! They were like 60ft breaks in the middle of the ocean. Totally nuts. They had heard about it, and the captain got some numbers and got 'em to it. Of coarse some of the surfers thought it was bullshyt on the way out, but there it was. Then those crazy fukers jump off the boat, and head for them. Nobody got hurt that day. Those waves weren't nearly as violent and dangerous as this break is though. I mean, look at the lip of this wave!!! I have never seen such a massive, thick lip. If that lip were to crash on you, it would pound and smash your body into the reef with so much force there would be nothing left. You'd be busted up into tiny pieces of fish food. Of coarse, there's only a handfull of big wave surfers. I'm guessing this 25yr old guy was the only one still young and dumb enough to try and attack this wave. Anyone to watch that break and want to surf that must be crazy. Just the sight of that scares the shyt out of me. That's one thing I'm terrified of. One of the things I love the most, I'm also most afraid of. The huge unpredictable sea...it's a powerful force.
TweetHere's his exaplination of what happened.
--------------
He said: 'Usually the wave never steps out or goes evil like that one, but it just went dry - the hardest wave I've ever had to surf.
When he says "it just went dry". What he's talking about is how a wave pulls water to it, so just before a wave, the water level will drop. I heard him explaining it on the phone in an interview last weekend, and he said after he dropped in, he looked down in front of him and just saw reef. Then his board was snatched out from under him by the wave.
'I went straight over the lip and did about 10 backflips and then pulled a muscle in my shoulder.
'It felt like I ripped my arm out of its socket, my leggie snapped and then I felt like I was the deepest I'd ever been.'
The unbelievable pictures have been entered into the prestigious Oakley Surfing Life Big Wave Awards, which rewards the riders of the biggest waves in Australasian waters.
So it was somewhere in Australasian waters.
Tweetthat is crazy. i was hurt real bad surfing an 8' wave this summer i cant imagine a wave that big!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
( i thought i could surf because i did 20 years ago, reconstructive surgery on my face led me to believe otherwise)
Tweetyeah no shyt. I remember when it was just breaking overhead and it'd drill your ass back in my surfing days. This shyt is just down right insane.
TweetThose dudes are nuts. I surfed quite a bit in college and I wouldn't even think about riding one of those big f'ers!
TweetJust came across this so I figured I'd put it here.
A must watch!
