Lately I have had a discussions with folks about how "bodybuilders" are perceived in our culture. Many have said they are viewed negatively. I have competed in a lot of contests myself and am putting together an info packet for my business and was told by a few that I should not put anything in it about being a competitive bodybuilder. Are we who are in the sport biased? How do you think we are perceived by the general public? Obviously there are some serious ass holes in this sport. One lady recently said to me "I hear "bodybuilder' and all I think is STEROIDS"...

      Thanks for your feedback.

to tell the truth, before i got into it, i admired you guys!! i knew VERY little about roids, but i knew how they basicly worked and that bodybuilders did them and they looked like my favorite super hero's from when i was a kid. ofcurse, when your with "your boys" you make comments.."roidhead". "it's the roids", ect...but....we all still admired them! wouldnt admit it to eachother...but we all did!
ofcourse...i had friends that did them, so maybe i was biased. i had a friend that was a training partner of Ian Harrison. he came from england after competing in a florida amature event. he didnt win, but wanted to stay in america...he taught me alot about roids. he was a monster!

I think your evaluation is on the mark. I don't know what your business packet is for but I would stay away from the bodybuilding word. Why not use "an avid weight trainer and fitness/nutrition enthusiest for X years" That might be a better word track if your going to stay away from the bodybuilding word.
