Do you bros use wraps when you get into your heavier squats? I was thinking of starting to use them since I had a recent injury during squatting that left me with a partially torn medial quad (the tear drop just next to the knee). It won't affect me long term but thought using wraps may help prevent another injury in the future. So I would like to hear who uses them and at what point in your sets do you put them on.

      Thanks Bros,

      ZZZOOM

I have "jumpers knee" my knees grind and pop like crazy and I have read that wraps would cause more friction on the already dry joint..
I usually dont wear a belt untill I get over 400lbs then I put one on for last 2 sets.

I squat naked. I get a lot of strange looks...
The burden of originality is one that most people don't want to accept. They'd rather sit in front of the TV and let that tell them what they are suppose to like, what they're suppose to buy, and what they're suppose to laugh at. You have Beavis and Butthead telling you what music you're allowed to like and not like, and you've got sitcoms that have canned laughter that lets you know when to laugh if you're too stupid to know when the joke is. People are too lazy and too stupid to think for themselves because America has raised them that way.

I always heard wraps were more harmfull the help. They don't encourage the knee joint, or surrounding support muscles to strengthen. I wouldn't use them unless I had to. I have heard that wearing neoprene knee sleeves are helpful because they keep the joint warm. Have you tried any "joint support" supplements?

ZZOom, that muscle is called the vastus medialis and is a common place for knee injuries. When this muscle is weak or partially torn, as in your case, it just lessens the support for your knee especially the patella. You need to do leg extensions each time you train legs and really focus on squeezing the v. medialis. I would do 10 sets of leg extensions prior to any other leg work.
