I LOVE BOOBOOKITTY...
TweetRead an article on the CM-Chrysler merger tonight. They want the Feds to "Loan" them 10 billion to make it happen. Thensaid they would strip out all redundant jobs and use Chryslers 11 billion cash reserve to run GM untill 2010. Thus hoping that GM would then be on solid ground.
The Feds are very reluctant to loan GM the money. GM's concession was to let the Feds have a share of the compnay.
As of now, it doesn't look good for GM getting any money from the Feds.
Push it, Pull it, Rack it. Repeat untill wide!!
Take nothing I say as serious, What do I know, I sell water!!

TweetYou can add the carpet industries cut backs to those number. Some facts about the carpet industry:
• 70% of the USA's flooring is carpet.
• Total industry shipments (2005) totaled 2.057 billion square yards (18.5 billion square feet) or $13.9 billion at the mill level. (In 1950, industry shipments were 97 million square yards.)
• 50% of the world's carpet is manufactured in the USA.
• Eighty percent of the U.S. carpet market is supplied by mills located within a 65 mile radius in north Georgia.
• The manufacturer in Georgia with the largest number of employees is a carpet manufacturer.
• The four largest carpet companies are headquartered in Georgia, and eight of the largest 13 carpet companies are headquartered in Georgia.
Yesterday one of those manufactures announced they they are laying off 3% of their employees. This does not include the 600 people have been laid already this year. Plus last year various mills laid off 2-3% of there people. Our sister company was sold off to a company in CA and all employes lost their jobs. The unemployment rate was already at 7.5% last month.
This is such a scary time... no ones job is safe.
