Why Isn’t Anyone Discussing The Positive Side Of The Looming Financial Meltdown?
      Editorial by Buckley F. Williams

No matter which way I turn lately, all I hear is people talking about the alleged negatives associated with the current fiscal crisis, and the subsequent “rescue plan.”

Moan, moan, moan. “I can’t pay the mortgage.” Wah, wah, wah. “We won’t be able to eat.” Boring. Whatever happened to the indomitable American spirit? The power of positive thinking? Nowadays, politicians and those in the media are neither “glass-half-full” nor “glass-half-empty”; they are more like, ”a-naked-Rosie-O’Donnell-just-sat-on-the-glass-after-running-wind-sprints-for-two-hours-straight-in-a-snowmobile-suit-on-a-July-day-in-Arizona.”

Come on people. We have always been a nation of optimists. It’s time to get back to our roots, pick our heads up and take a good, hard look at the positive side of our current financial debacle.

More accurate labeling of “poor.” For years we have been inundated with propoganda about millions of American living below the poverty line. Now those people will actually have a chance to be poor. No more flat screen TV’s. No more $300 cell phones. The current financial environment will likely leave these folks just Sally Struthers and a few hundred flies short of true poverty.
Improved posture. Lighter wallets mean better posture. Period. Although chiropractors will suffer disproportionately during the crisis, the average person should benefit greatly from the dearth of cash in their wallet/purse. A diet consisting of 6/$1 Ramen Pride noodles and smooth stones is a small price to pay for excellent spinal health.
Awesome stories for the grandkids. One of the things that my generation is lacking is a great storyline about the suffering and sacrifice we have had to endure as a group. Until now, the best we we had to offer was a sob story about how our controller broke just as we were sitting down to go online with XBox Live and play Call of Duty IV: Modern Warfare. I, for one, can’t wait to regale the tots with tales of walking to and from where I used to work before my company was downsized, uphill, both ways, in a blinding Depression.
Nancy Pelosi incinerated. The more media exposure she receives during this crisis, the greater the likelihood of her slipping up and staying awake until dawn, thus resulting in her being turned into a pile of cosmetically-enhanced ash. (However, the daywalker Barney Frank will be far more difficult to vanquish, due in no small part to his propensity for quickly rolling over into “downward dog” position when confronted by a foe wielding a large wooden stake.)
So please, try not to get caught up in the “doom and gloom” scenarios that the so-called “experts” have been trying to sell us. As you can clearly see, every cloud has a silver lining.
A faithful heart makes wishes come true.

man im ok with the recession right now. I mean i feel for all the people out there that are having a hard time, but being a young person and just starting to invest this is a fantastic market to get going in.
