He was his trainer at one time. He might hate him now. There was a big article on this a while back on my mma message board. It was a pretty big landslide poll that he has no chance of being successful at MMA. This was way before he took the 20 million to fight The Big Show or whatever

Thats not why they bought the WEC. They bought the WEC to optimize their own talent pool and give talented fighters a place to go and improve to be brought to the UFC to be elite. Oh and to make a lot more money in the process. If there becomes a handful more elite 145lbers, the UFC will add a 145 division.

I meant to say that this is why they have the WEC. This has been discussed by Dana in the past. He says that the UFC has no intentions on creating a 145lb division because the WEC already has that going. The WEC is also a place for the fighters that don't make it in the UFC to have somewhere else to go without leaving the org. Dana said that they were trying to build up the WEC.

Because people like Faber, Pulver, Razor Rob, etc...are the names that will build the WEC up. Right now they are making money off both orgs, you start taking away the WECs talent pool and it no longer makes the high dollars.

TweetUndoubtedly, I am huge Mayweather fan. But I will be the first to admit, he would never hang in MMA. Many boxing greats and not so greats have tried before.
For the record, Floyd and his father are not on good terms. Floyd Sr said he would train De La Hoya for their upcoming fight that will never happen. Some believe Floyd retired out of fear that his father would train De La Hoya. But we all know, Floyd fears no one. Not even Chuck Norris.
