Tweetin all honesty i am on the fence
the reasons why are because of a values conflict
i understand both sides, and both sides have imho good points
a lil about my history
i'm fiddy, and i have seen the lack of health care, basic, and emrgency destroy the lives and families of good people, thru no bad decisions of there own
i ran a construction company and i know others in high levels of business who want this monkey off of there back, why, they spend to much time effort and energy on this item rather than doing what they do best, making progress in there passions about there expertise
when i got a job with helath care, i heard all these folks complaining about not having it, well, in high school and college while i was working my arse off, all these people i knew now complaining about it, where not working, so, imho, i had earned it and they had not, period end of story
as time went on a few of these peoples lifes and families were destroyed due to it, and that openend my eyes, how many others were there, like the guy who cleaned up the office building i was in, who was an immigrant a green card guy in his sixties who we spent ten minutes a day trying to communicate for years, he would teach me spanish and i would teach him english, we would talk in our limited ways about our families and lifes, he was a man on the bottom rung of life who i honored deeply and would trust my life with, i wanted the best for this man, would health care help??????? tough questions
i've know high level folks in canada's health care who moved here because of what they didn't like
i know the greatest doctors who see the problem quite differently, and are adamantly against it, believing it would destroy lot's of good things, my sense is they think the system is good as it is, just alot of stupid stuff
we're the only industrialized country without it, i ask, what do they seee, and what are they doing right with it
my preference is too first try and improve what we got, on the highest level we have the best, on the lowest level we all know it could be better
my dream system, stop having companies give that benefit, it has already been started, it is why alot of stuff is non-union, all the car mfgs. just nixed ther einvolvement in it, and said hey unions you think it is so easy, here's the money u do it, a lesson will be learned
i don't see why there is not more of an emphasis on CATASTROPHIC HEALTH CARE, it's not the little stuff that cripples folks it is the big ones
a family of 4 insurance is 6-12k a year depending on coverage
catastropic would be 3k, leaving lot's of money left over to spend in other ways
that's how i see it, for better or worse
