Hondas hold their value best. You didn't pay top dollar but you didn't get a steal either. And at only 7K miles, it's worth top dollar, or pretty dam close. All that really matters is if you're happy with the purchase.

I sold my '03 600rr in 2006 for $4,500. It had just over 4000miles, ran and looked great. Stainless Yoshi.. I think the book was $6,700, if I remember correctly. The guy that bought it was happy of coarse. I even gave him a $550 Arai Quantum helmet. It sold so fast when I reduced it to $4500. I was getting calls where people actually got mad that it was sold.

Congrats on the new Honda. The powerband is way different than the Yamaha, huh?

totally different. its better and more aggressive in high rpms like above 10k. doesnt have the low end like my r6. I love it though.

These are going for $5,000- $5,500 on the street right now. check cycletrade or even craigslist. prices are way jacked up.

My 2003 CBR 600RR was just as every editorial and rider review stated...They have a smoother, broader powerband, and compared to the R6, my 2007 R6...the 2003 CBR seemed to have a little more low to mid range torque, but at the top half, the R6 is straight up rediculous.

you're getting an absolute backwards response out of the 2. What year is your R6, which I don't think it really matters the R6 has always been known for a little lag in the low to mid range, but at the high end, where it really matters, that's where the R6 shines. atleast I can speak for '06 up.

I have an 03 r6 and an 04 r6..... there are totally different then the 06's and up. 06 is more race orientated. more weight displaced over the front half of the bike.

taken for the 600cc shoot out...

"Compared to the others, the CBR is truly gutless on the bottom end," says Hutchison, adding riding two-up requires much feathering of the clutch. Chamberlain agreed that as a streetbike engine, the CBR left something to be desired. "For the street, I'd like something with a bit more midrange. On the track, though, the motor is great because you rarely drop below 10,000 and it feels like it will rev forever."

Which leaves us with the R6, clandestinely lurking in the shadows, not making itself obvious. It's almost invisible on the dyno charts, only standing out by its dip in power around 8500 rpm. But for some reason, most of our testers gave the heavily revised mill strong marks and it only just lost out in voting to the big-cube ZX in the engine rankings.

"When I got off the Ninja I was thinking that the Yamaha would be in trouble in the motor department," says Hutchison. "But I was wrong. The R6 is so smooth and provides decent power in the lower rev range where a mortal will spend a great portion of their life when riding on the street."

ill even post the complete link. its a very good article.

Honda is the top manufacturer of the top 4, period. They're 2 steps ahead of everyone else. I love Honda.

What I'm saying is, I had an '03 600rr...which is what badassz32 got. That bike had more low-mid range torque than my '07 R6. Now on the opposite end of the rpm range, it's a whole different story. And as you said ba..."the '03-'05s are street machines. That's why they kept them around and make them still today. They're coined the "street friendly" R6S. The R6S is the 2003-'05 R6.

You'll love that CBR. What's not to?

nothing better then a well made 600cc bike though. im not a fan of liter bikes... I had an R1. it was too hard to open it up in the city.

take a look at the link for the 600cc shootout. they have them for every year.

I've read and watched the sportbike comparisons, shootouts, reviews, reports, and whatever else they've called them for a good decade. There's something about that stuff that just makes ya look forward to those issues and specials...it's that little thing called 'addiction',lol...it's good stuff. And you honestly can't go wrong with any of the top 4. None of them are junk, and none of them are slow. They out perform vehicles well into 6 figures...they're just badass, and they're all neck and neck with one another. Each with very unique personalities.
