I will be using it very shortly. I talked to a pharmacist, and he said the vit A is the next best thing to accutane.

Accutane is plainly put a high dose of Vit A. It will work but the doses have to be high.

And what kind of dosage are you talkin?

It depends on the person. Myself, any oral I take liver values double almost overnight I'm just not cut for it. I was using 250,000 iu's per day at the time I considered it more cost effective than getting my accutane script refilled.

Is it possible to get my liver values checked, without my doctor? Or would a doctor be willing to check them fairly often?? (probably depends on the doc.....)

According https://www.askmrvitamins.com excess vit A may be harmful to ones liver. But IMO you can't overdose on vitamins. Your doctor can check your liver values as often as you want, but it's not neccesary. Once or twice a month is adequate enough to monitor any changes to your health.

It's nice to live here in Canada, I just phone my doctor 1 day in advance for him to see me and get things done for me.:p

And thanks for the Info, I might get some Vit-A and try taking that. If it works, I will get my liver values checked after a month, and then I can comence my cycle while using the Vit-A, if everything is OK.

Is Vit-a something I can pickup at any nutrition store??

Also, do you think 250,000 IU's will be enough for someone who has fairly bad acne? We're talkin back shoulders neck chest and face, with a fair amount in each area.... The smallest amount being the face, thank GOD!

LOL! I didn't realize you're a fellow Canadian until I saw your flag. Shoppers Drugmart had a sale last week Vit A 250 gelcaps @ 10,000 iu's each for $2.49. I suffer from very bad acne on the same areas you've mentioned( I think the reason for this is because we have a lot of androgen receptors there) and the scars are like a stigmata or summat so I'm doing a bit of Microdermabrasion to get rid of the scars. You can always adjust the dose if 250,000 iu's isn't helping. The problem with taking this high an amount is by the second day flushed skin is obvious.

      Then it won't be noticeable.

I know someone who overdosed on vitamins before. I think it was B vitamins.

accutane is derived from vit A. Vit A never did a thing to my acne but pantothenic acid works great! treating acne on the other had all depends on what kind of acne you have, so vit A might work for you.
