I dont know if anyone else cares but this really pissed me off so I thought I'd spew a bit.
I read an article regarding the removal of the gray wolf (aka timber wolf) from the endangered species list. Now of you havent been following its reintroduction to the wild heres a breif recap. Back in 1995 approximately 4 dozen wolves were released into Yellowstone national park. Today the gray wolf population is over 1600 ranging between Idaho, Montana and Wyoming.
Now, if we do the math, thats a little over 500 wolves per state. Not an overwhelming number if you think about it. Well it would seem thats far too many for the Elk and Deer hunters because, at their behest, the Bush administration has revised the Endagered Species Act to say that only 20 breeding pairs of wolves be kept and no more than 200 total wolves need to be protected once they are removed from the list.
That means over 1400 wolves currently being protected will be up for slaughter. Nevermind all the data that has proven active healthy wolf populations actually allow the environment to thrive, reduce disease and genetic defficiency through culling the herd . . . nope, my name is johnny jimbob and I wanna hunt more deer dang it . . .
just when I dont think I can have WORSE opinion of the human race ol' Georgey bush proves me wrong, WAY TO GO Gee-Dub!! Way to go...
Thus endeth my rant...
who you are is determined by what you do when no one is watching.
