So, I'm thinking, why why why all of these young kids who want to vote for him.

Now, rock the vote they grew up with it.

I'm thinking a major driving influence is over 50% of kids have grown up in a divorced household. Which means, major league drama on a constant basis, thus, they hate abhor drama. And since that is all we have had in the last 20 years is drama, bickering, yelling screaming, my guess is they couldn't stand it growing up, and they don't want it in life.

The boards are kinda like that, it tooks a few years, but for all intent the drama is gone, we all for the most part get along.

      just a thought

I think that they are just really buying the sale. Obama is a very likable guy with that winning smile. It is obviously easy for people to get lost in the presentation. The man is good. There's no doubt about that. I think the younger voters like that he's the younger candidate. The young voters see a more "hip" candidate in Obama, and I'm sure they feel that he's more on their level. They see Obama as someone they could connect with better than the other guys & gal. He's the most personable candidate. Those attributes that create the feeling of connection with younger folks, and I think all of us, are what make people that are in the public eye "rock stars" to us. It's the people that feel some sort of genuine connection with a celebrity that make that celebrity bigger than life. And it's kinda wierd because it's that down to earth everyday life connection from the beginning. Look at Elvis Presley and alot of the early "rock & roll" groups...alot of the rap, Eminem, Kid Rock's early days then he hit a different demographic and hit with a common ground connection. Then when the celebrities change their style and drift from the material that connected them with their fan base, poof they go fast. A great example of this is when Eminem went from his 'party party, drug-it-up, my girlfriend's a bytch' style to none other than a political message for the fans to get to the voting booth and "get Bush outa there". Alot of his fan base dropped him like a bad habit. He lost connection like so many do when they become multi-platinum mega millionaires, and I think alot of the time it's because of that very reason they loose fans, because the celebrity just isn't on that level anymore and connection is gone.
My point with that long-winded ramble is there's a celebrity like status and connection that Obama has with the younger voters compared to the other candidates.

Have you ever listened to any of his speeches? He has said hope and change so much it is becoming laughable.
I have yet to figure out or hear him say what type of chaange or hope for what?
I would like to see his item by item list of changes he hope to have.
Still wouldn't make me vote for him in any election

Well, he's probably going to be our next president, so hopefully there is some substance there. Even though he hasn't stated his stance on issues, we do know that he is the direct opposite of Ron Paul simply because of his political party choice, and more than that, being the most liberal in congress. Which none of the candidates do share the true fundamentally conservative positions of Ron Paul.

I think it is a passionate motivation (sparked by the Bush Administration) to do something to change the direction of this country, mixed with ignorance. Fools jump in!

I think the majority of these people are probably the same people that have a strong hatred for Bush and they see Obama as the antagonist to the typical corrupt politician and George Bush specifically.

These people don't support Obama because of his policies because most of them supported him before he revealed them. They support him because of what they associate with him. He's young. He's black. He's done lots of drugs (young voter association). He's inexperienced (and when politics and corruption are viewed as synonymous that not a bad thing). In other words, he's different/unique. "Change" and "hope" would be perceived as a superficial campaign slogan for most politicians but because of his "unique" variable, the Obam-ites get to fill in the general ignorance about their leader with their own fantasies of "hope".

So these sheep, who have good intentions, who believe the country is on the wrong course are delaying the correction they want for the country, because all that they dislike in Bush - Obama will replicate. Obama's policies will deepen the partisanship in the country. The government will define "patriotic" companies (damn that's another scary step). Class warfare will increase, because of the ever increasing demands for more tax (redefining of "rich"). Government power and size will increase. Taxes will increase. All this will lead to increase in lobbyists attempts for favorable government legislation, which will increase corruption. Economy will slow but be blamed on previous administration. In the end, Obama's failure will teach his supporters nothing because like all statists, they will state: we didn't give it enough time, there was too much opposition, too much selfishness, corruption and greed, etc.

Would you be proud telling your great grand kids you voted for Obama! Just "write in" Thomas Jefferson or something. It would be funny if George Washington and Thomas Jefferson each got 1 or 2 percent of the vote.

well we know where i stand, lol

i was making the point, and even this thread/post is representative

we've talked alot about politics in the last 4 months

for all intents and purposes we may disagree yet imho i don't think anyone who is a member feels like any poster here is a tool or idiot,.........( hell, ya all might think i'm a duce bag, ya nevah know)

anyways, back too point, we share idea's, disagree, get into some depths at times, come up with different reasons, and we do it all with no drama

obama so far has created no drama, no complaints, no whining, etc. he's just doing what he does

imho, i think folks really underestimate his vision

      look at it this way.........

He COULD CAMPAIGN like hillary and others on universal health care, ie, government pays, yet, he does not.

His is more of a government involvement yet it does not pay.

Why, he knows the social security and medicare are killing us. And whereas folks say they want and care about health care, they have no real idea the unintended consequences 50 years down the road.

So, from my seat, i think he is way way ahead on stuff.

Doesn't matter. His position will actually help the manifestation of universal health care in the future. Universal Healthcare could not pass legislation in America at this time. A more dramatic, immediate government intervention, currently, will create more unsatisfied customers (or citizens) in the future, in which our future options will be (from a dependent perspective) to be independent and go back to a free market or remain dependent and resist change and march on to Universal Healthcare. You know, psychologically, what dependency will choose. You have to understand government equates with brute force. You cannot use brute force to create a productive economy or industry - it is impossible. The only difference in Obama's healthcare beliefs and Hillary's are he is baby stepping society to accept Hillary's.

i'm just not as negative about it, cause no one can really predict the future

20 years ago, no one thought, we'd be doing this, posting, etc.

what is it, 90% of developed countries have universal health care, and they are not dead or dying or crumbling

now, i don't believe in it, i'm just saying life could be worse, much worse
