TweetOk heres the story. My grandpa bought this car brand new form the dealer. It is a '72 Pontiac Lemans two door with a 400ci engine, eight track player on the floor etc, all original. However, he has loaned it out to all my idiot relatives since 72 and it has seen some abuse. Well, now it is mine.
I want to restore this thing but for one I am not a huge car guy. I can work on my own cars, do my brakes, oil changes, staters, alternators and the like but I am far from an expert on restoration. My question is this: Where the hell do you start with a old car restoration? I am thinking I will rebuild the engine/trans drive train then go from there but this poor car needs soooo much work. Any ideas? Ill post up some pics when I bring it back to my house.

Tweetdont spend too much on it...as a lemans it is not worth too much..if was a gto, then spend away. Most old cars unless they are a collectors item, need so much body work, interior work it is not worth it....and the hobby has gotten so big for investors, that restoration parts aresky high...if i was you i would fix it up to a hot rod, custom street car...alot cheaper than trying to restore to original form
TweetPIGMEAT IS RIGHT MY FATHER INLAW SAID THE SAME THING IF IT WAS A GTO THEN YEAH
