      Default McCain wins again!!!

That's three states and 97 delegates. Of course there are over 1000 republican delegates in over 20 states up for grab on super Tuesday but what is up with the Republican party even getting him this far? I'm not a republican but I have always viewed Republicans as somewhat friendly to economic freedom, the right to bear arms and freedom of speech.
Independents could vote in the New Hampshire primary so that could justify McCain. Dems or Indys ccould vote in South Carolina primaries so that could be used to explain McCain's victory there but independents and dems can't vote in republican primaries in Florida.

I do not see what McCain has to offer, that any "conservatives" would be impressed by.

You guys think it is just a fluke and he will sink on super Tuesday or do you think America is just really in that bad of shape; where a republican presidential nominee can have the attributes that are typically associated with the big government socialists.

On the plus side; if it is Hillary vs. McCain and Ron Paul runs third party, I don't see who else anyone that opposes statism can go but Ron Paul. <repeat to self for comfort>

I'm thinking that most Republicans believe he's the only one that can beat Hillary. He has proven that he can swing some of the democratic and independent vote and most Republicans will vote for him just because he's a Republican running against Hillary.

Personally I think the pool of candidates is extremely weak. I honestly fear for our country over the next 10 years.

i dont understand how people oppose the Republicans saying all they want is more war.... face it people, WW3 has begun. its radical muslims VS. the rational thinking world. While i dont agree with McCain on a lot of the puss/fluff issues, i feel safer with him running the show that hillary. I tend to side with Dems on a lot of issues... i consider myself a laid back liberal person. I dont care if gays want to marry or have some civil union. I am pro choice, i am for protecting the environment..... but again, they are all fluff compaired to our countrys safety.

What do people think is going to happen by pulling our troops right out of iraq and leaving that country in shambles? Do they think that the quality people of iraq are going to stand up and clap.... and cheer for us as we leave them completely unstabe and ripe for al qaeda and other radical war lords to move their operation right into their country?

      I don't think he can.

I know the polls have stated he is the only republican that can defeat any of the democrats nominees but Hillary and Obama are both very composed and articulate - Jon, not so much. Hillary and Obama will also have the advantage of not having to defend small govenrment while supporting big government, like Jon will have to - they are for big government and they are up front about it. McCain tries to compare himself to Reagan while supporting big government; of course, it's working so far but Hillary won't let that fly. I think once you put McCain next to either one of those two in a presidential campaign and/or debates he'll sink. Then again I could be hoping. I would rather see any of the current candidates as president than McCain. The dude scares the hell out of me - I don't see anyone more dangerous to liberty than McCain. He's like all the things I don't like about liberals and all the things I don't like about conservatives all rolled into one.

McCain was a co-sponsor of Anabolic Steroid Control Act of 2004, which banned some pro-hormones. He helped lead the charge in banning ephedra. He sponsored a bill that has his name, McCain-Feingold, which encroaches freedom of speech. He wants to spend a trillion dollars a year to prevent global warming, which he isn't even sure is happening. He was one of two republicans that voted against the Bush tax cuts. He wants congress to have oversight and regulate Major League Baseball, a private enterprise, in the battle against performance enhancers.

This is the most ridiculous flip ever. Two quotes from Mr. McCain:
"Ethanol does nothing to reduce fuel consumption, nothing to increase our energy independence and nothing to improve air quality."

"I support ethanol and I think it's vital. A vital alternative energy source not only because of our dependency on foreign oil but because of its greenhouse gas reduction effects."

I beleve he does have the ability to win. He has already started reaching out to conservatives which is what he HAS to do.

I don't agree with him on a lot of issues, one of the biggest being illegal immigrants,
but I don believe he would do a better job than most other candidates.

If you look at Huckabee and his record as governor of Ark. you see that, no he didn't raise taxes, but he imposed more fines than anyone ever. Call it what you want but it still cost the people money. Plus I don't know how tested he is against islamic extremeists.

Then you have Mitt who ways whatever he thinks needs to be said. I understand it is important to not be hard headed and have the ability to change your mind. It is also important however to stand behind what you believe every now and then.

Then there's Hillary. Where do I start with her. She can't be pinned down to any issue. On one hand shes an agent of change then on the other hand shes the most politically experienced and ready to lead on day one. Which is it? I frimly believe she has been part of the establishment that is the problem now for many years. I also believe she showed her true character when she stole the White House furniture the first time the Clintons moved out.

      WHY'D YOU STEAL THE FURNITURE?

lesser of the evils my brothers...McCain isn't perfect but he would have my vote because of where he stands on a lot of issues. The prick did push a lot of this steriod in baseball stuff back in the day but over all he is a good guy, comes from working stock like you and I, been in hell in 'nam, has a decent track record for here in AZ...

The answer I've gotten from everybody today is that in this time of war and desperate need for not just a sense of security, but real experience. McCain shines in this area. I agree with them on that. No need to expand on that. Yesterday afternoon, my mother said that Ron Paul would be a wasted vote. I didn't even realize that her husband was for Ron Paul as well. She obviously relayed my points and so on to her husband, and he took it from there. He's a republican, but I had no idea that he had went Ron Paul. She said that he made the remark yesterday that he was thinking that voting for R Paul would be a "wasted vote." I got that answer a couple of times today when I mentioned Ron Paul. "It would have been a wasted vote." I'm amazed at how many people actually are for Ron Paul. If everybody that wanted Ron Paul in there had voted Ron Paul, then the numbers would have been a bit different. One republican really surprised the hell outa me by replying that the only reason he didn't vote R Paul is because of the "wasted vote" factor. That really says something right there. If you only knew this man. He also said that he wants the military background of McCain to follow the current coarses out strong and as smoothly as possible, so...there's that. You really have apples and oranges comparing the two, but I like McCain over the other candidates and I voted Ron Paul.

Ron Paul just isn't the enterprise that a presidential candidate obviously must be. People said they want him. From the independents for change to some of the die-hard right. We can't blame the media. If it was up to the media, Giuliani would've taken Florida. Giuliani should have been runnin strong throughout according to the media and what the media has done for him.
