TweetWE TRY TO DO IT
TweetMeasures their food. ? How many cups, oz's of what... I always mess up with this and quite frankly I'm tired of it. I'm not a chef but I always end up making more than what I can eat. 1 cup of dry rice looks pretty darn easy to eat (when dry in a cup - i use a measuring cup) as soon as it cooks man in the rice steamer I end up with 4 cups.... I can't eat that much rice for Christ's sake. It's easier with meats and stuff...
This morning I made grits 1/2 cups...dry looked fine...when I made it...shiiit it was enough to feed 10 people... So what is the proper way to measure this...cooked or uncooked. I know for a fact a cooked cup of rice will not have the same amount of carbs/calories etc as written on the nutrition facts.
HELP!!

TweetNormally it will tell you on the package just how to make it. (directions). lol
Tweet^ Yea, it says 1/2 cups...so I made it...it was enough for my entire family... fukk that,.
TweetI measure dry but I dont eat grits just oatmeal and brown rice.
TweetI want to replace oatmeal with grits for a few days or weeks and just have grits with cheese and egg whites mixed in. The way Ronnie Coleman has his breakfast. It's inspiring lol....
I use oatmeal in my shakes...with a coffee grinder i chop them into a fine powder and add about 3 scoops in my shake...for carb intake with my whey protein so it's actually not bad.
TweetIm not much for grits but I will have to try putting the oatmeal into a coffee grinder

TweetI don't know anyone that enjoys eating that oatmeal every single morning... and those damn egg whites..it gets so old...but I guess it gets the job done. In my new diet it's fairly simple... lots of meat and few protein shakes a day...and the only carb meals are with grits, the oatmeal I mix with my protein shake...and a baked potatoe..
Tweeti dont measure enough...i just eye ball it. i always thaught it was a COOKED cup of rice! i dont know many that could eat a dry cup of rice after it's cooked!

Tweetexactly my point. that's enough for an entire family if you ask me.
TweetIf you make your protein shakes in a blender, place your oatmeal in first. Then us the blender to chop it up. Add protien and what ever liquid you use and blend to gether.
That way you want have to use a coffee grinder.
As for measuring my foods, I usually cut the serving size in half or sometimes less. Just have to experiment with it to get close to the amount you want to eat.
Push it, Pull it, Rack it. Repeat untill wide!!
Take nothing I say as serious, What do I know, I sell water!!

TweetI tried to do it like you said with a blender but the one I have doesn't really chop oatmeal into a fine powder like my coffee grinder does. That's why I use coffee grinder. Time to get a new blender I guess
