Believe it or not, I'm actually looking forward to this fight between the 2 hasbeens. Trinidad is coming off a tough loss, and Jones is not the same fighter he once was. Then again, Trinidad is not the same fighter coming off his loss to Hopkins years ago. It damn well forced him into retirement! The thing that scares me is Jones is getting his confidence back after going to Puerto Rico. Trinidad is still iffy. This is going to be one of the toughest fights of the decade to call! HOWEVER, I like Trinidad.

Yes. His last fight was against Winky Wright where he lost by decision. And retired.......again.
Roy Jones, who no doubt, was one of the best there ever was, is at the end of his career. After his 2 losses to Tarver, and his HUGE loss to Glencoff Johnson, he had to fight undercard fighters. And even though he beat the undercards, he couldn't knock them out. He won by decisions. That's not the Jones of old. He's almost 40. He's lost a lot of his step. And Trinidad isn't no spring chicken at 34, but I believe he's still got the fire in him. He has to be a little of a head case to retire twice after his 2 losses. But none the less, he's still considered one of Puerto Rico's best fighters ever. Provided he's the Tito of old, he's strong, he's fast, and he's agile. His only down fall in the Winky Wright fight was he looked slow in the later rounds. But if Tarver and Glen Johnson could catch Jones, Trinidad sure as hell could much easier.

they both used to be exciting to watch.... but i cant recall ever watching roy fight anyone of substance until hopkins and by then roy was past his time...... felix on the other hand fought some nice battles back in the day. the trinidad vargas fight was still one of hte most exciting fights i have ever seen...... If i was a betting man i would take felix.

That's always been my argument with Jones. He was a GREAT fighter. But he was a paper champion. He fought some PRETTY tough guys, but generally, his tough competitors ended with decisions. All except Virgil Hill and Vinny Pazienza. But Pazaienza was pretty well over the hill at that point anyways. Again, Roy was a great fighter, and did win a controversial decision over Bernard Hopkins, because Hopkins was fighting with a broken hand that no one knew about. When Hopkins was recovered, Roy ducked him and wouldn't give him a rematch. Flat out, Roy ducked Hopkins. So, they went their seperate ways, and Hopkins fought the toughest fighters in his division, while Roy continued to fight mid line guys. Then, when Roy lost his 3 fights to Tarver and Johnson, THEN he wanted a rematch with Hopkins. At that point, WTF did Hopkins have to prove? If he takes the fight, he becomes "Just another guy to knock out an old Roy Jones Jr." So that's where I give the edge to Hopkins and mayweather. Floyd never ducked nobody, nor did Hopkins. And both are the greatest fighters of our generation.
Believe me, I've been a Roy Jones fan since day one. And I loved watching the guy fight. But he's older, slower, and definitely not as strong. In his PRIME, he couldn't KO a top 5 fighter. Now, he sure as hell can't KO Tito.

I agree that Roy is well past his prime. I also agree that he was a great fighter, and one aof my favs. He's from and lives right up the street (90 miles away) so he's close to home. I'd love to see Roy win. I like to root for America when I can. I like to like the guy I'm rooting for though too. I like Jones. I just wonder if he can do it. I still haven't decided if I'm getting that fight though. I may just have to catch the highlights on espn. Or hear from you guys after. How much is it? I ain't throwing $50 down on it.
